Side note - Sellers was originally set to also play US Major Kong in the bomber but after an injury forced him to abandon that role it was offered to John Wayne and then Slim Pickens who did not know it was a black comedy and played the role as himself basically.

Heath Ledger - The Dark Knight

Still to this day, one of the best acting performances I've seen. But I'm biased because the Joker is IMO the best villain ever created and he nailed the chaotic evil perfectly.

Funny that he has so many great ones and few of my most hated.

I mean I love Rounders and I don't suppose it is his performance but god I hate Worm. You might say that is evidence of a great performance, but I think he could have had some redeeming value if played by someone with a little more charisma maybe. His Hulk is terrible (imo) and Death to Smoochy was unbearable.
