Because Stone absolutely carried Poor Things. Every last scene. She had far more heavy lifting to do. Whereas Gladstone had what amounted to a glorified supporting role. She made a phenomenal impact, and was the soul that movie, but in a dead heat I understand giving Stone the edge due to her sheer workload/responsibility. Never mind the evolution her character underwent over the course of the movie.
I was disappointed overall with
Killers of the Flower Moon.
I thought the set up for it the first hour was really good, but there never seemed to be any redemption or final push to it. And some of the scenes dragged with no obvious benefit. I thought all the acting was good and the visuals were amazing but the movie just never took off IMO.
And I like Emma Stone, but I have no desire to see
Poor Things, and I watch tons and tons of movies, all types, but congrats to her.
