Just finished season 1. I'd watch a second season as well. There were some flaws but also some great moments. I actually liked the style/tone they went for as opposed to doing the same thing. I also liked how some of the conversations were similar to the movie though.

I've watched six episodes so far and I'm really digging the show. I love Donald Glover and he has great charisma. Maya Erskine has impressed me a ton in her role; I wasn't familiar with her at all before this. The settings are obviously fantastic and I have enjoyed the overall vibe of the show. The storylines haven't been airtight (issues with the dead billionaire story and the dynamite in his lake house didn't make sense to me) but the relationship growth and drama has rang true. I think hihi has been a clever device for advancing the story as well. There have been a few sloppy editing mistakes that were surprising (his necklace went above and under a shirt in the premier and he got a really obvious haircut and beard trim in another episode) but it hasn't taken away from my enjoyment of the show.

5 episodes in and this show is definitely different. It's slower paced than I expected but the dialogue is good.

My only real criticism has been mentioned before... that being the female lead. She just doesn't fit for me. Very square-peg-into-round-hole as far as casting.

That said I enjoy it. Anything with Donald Glover is gonna be good in my book.

I haven't finished it all yet, but was disappointed they went the 20-assasins can't hit the target but the protagonists are expert, offhand shots with a 4" barreled pistol from 40-yards in ep. 5. "Do you want kids". It's just so unbelievable that two people are suddenly experts with firearms and off hand shooting like this.

I really liked that the early episodes didn't resort to ridiculous gunplay and shoot-em-up scenes that only happen in Hollywood (IE John Wick). Yes, Ep3 had some, but it was not over the top. The hints of violence without actually showing it (like the jungle delivery, grabs a machete and we see some blood then they're in the helo all covered in blood flying home).

Will keep watching but I hope they go back to less over the top gun play and more mystery/intrigue and make it a good story. To often voilence/gunplay is used to cover up bad story telling.

one of my least favorite things ever in "gun" movies is where a bad guy gets the drop on a protagonist, misses, and the protagonist turns around and hits the bad guy in one shot.

every movie/series with a shootout has some form of this.

Me too.

That's why I liked in the first few episodes there wasn't the ridiculous, over the top gun play. The kept it "real" so to speak.

Loved the Pitt and Jolie version, big time fan. That being said, I could see glimpses of that version in this. The lines during the last episode especially, the "Honey, are you alive"? and some scenes with the fridge and ovens.

Their talking on the phone while walking was very similar to the scene with Pitt and Jolie driving describing their feelings when they first met. I liked the first episode a lot but it went downhill fast for me. It was very boring and drawn out. I get that they were developing characters but I wasn't too impressed with them as characters. The final episode finally got interesting. I'm glad it's over.

I don't quite see how it was a "bait and switch" when everything but the title - the trailer, the two leads, the filmmakers, this thread, etc - told you it was doing something very different from the movie.

So why even use the same name?

I doubt that it was originally intended, but I can see this as an "each season has a new couple with new issues or whatever" kind of thing. Could be interesting that way, maybe.

Just finished this. I enjoyed all the episodes. Funny, but not in the LOL way.

Really enjoyed the ending.

Just starting this. The androgynous half Korean chick should have been killed in the first scene and the entire show been with the 10 that actually got killed.
