ol Whitfield crane, he's gotta resume. Got offered to be singer of Judas Priest. Had a side project with godsmack members minus sully. Had a stint singing for life of agony, guest vocals on Motörhead and sugar ray.

My brother managed a club in SAn Antonio and was good buddies with him.

Grunge killed them.

Wish they and Gin Blossoms had been bigger successes.

I kinda miss that early 90's non grunge vibe at times.

Pearl Jam is the greatest band ever.

But I miss the sound of the aforementioned.

What bands do you wish would have lasted longer?
Sidebar: I was part of MSC Town Hall when the Gin Blossoms opened up for Toad at G. Rollie White in 1992!

You sure that wasn't spring of 93? As I posted earlier, gin blossoms played at Rudder Easter Weekend in 1993.

Meat Puppets (Actually think they're around still)
Space Hog
Breeders
Breeders are still around as well. Don't listen to them. Did like early Breeders right after Kim Deal left The Pixies.
The Breeders played Coachella this year

Met Sully in Osaka. Nice guy.
Got to see the band in action at Fuji Speedway, they were a tight group.

There were quite a few rock bands with female vocalists back in the day.
My son was playing Forza Horizon (car game) and this band came on the game soundtrack... a throwback girl rock band sound. Sound is obviously better on one of the streaming services than this vid

In the spring of '93 they played at Rudder fountain. No joke. It was cold AF so no one was there.

Soooo…. Did you enjoy MSC Town Hall?

Anyone else ever hear walk on the ocean in modern times and think to yourself.. man I never really remember it just ending like that on a verse.. a cliff hanger if you will, never resolving to that perfection of a chorus.

Only to realize, the mtv video was a different arrangement, with the chorus added to the end and a fade. AS IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN!

TTWS. My favorite live band of all time. They still sound awesome! Last TTWS concert I went to was last year at the Mish up here in Bellvue. If you ever get the chance to go to the Mish, go. It's a great venue.
I saw Jerry Jeff Walker at the Mish in 1997. Absolutely wonderful experience as I had just moved to Ft. Collins from Texas a few months prior.

Dulcinea was one of the first two CDs I got as a present from my cooler older sister when we got a family CD player in 94.

Fly from Heaven is a great first song on an album. That's still one of my favorite albums. And love me some Gin Blossoms.

Stir of Echoes just ended, and boy did this have some 90s in it.

Moist - Breathe
Gob - Paint It Black
Poe - Hello

With some non-Counting Blue Cars Dishwalla thrown in for good measure.

Pet Your Friends is a great album by Dishwalla and still holds up. English prof of mine around '98 knew the band because he was a resident of Santa Barbara or there whereabouts. He was a d-bag though.

They came back the next year and played the outdoor show, maybe that was also when Bely was there?

That must've been it they had played the night before then were playing outside in March and it was like 50 degree and windy.

MSC Town Hall is the student group who brings and hosts live music acts on campus. Back in the early 90s that included everything from Garth Brooks to the Violent Femmes, with the Rudder concert of Toad the Wet Sproket right in the mix. Sounds like there's a few alum around here.

Yeah. I remember it vaguely. As a member of the corps who hated wearing a uniform, I didn't do much around campus.

I do vividly remember Gin Blossoms and Toad playing then Gin Blossums playing at Rudder fountain. I know it was spring of 93.

Totally off topic but wanted to tell you.

I'm going to a Pearl Jam show with my 19 year old son this summer.
