Very impressive. I'd love to go to that show.

From the outside though, it looks gaudy as hell. So, maybe it fits right in in Vegas.

It's like going to Jerryworld & spending the whole game staring at the giant screen.

U2 doesn't need to be there... they could be animatronic & the place would still sell out.

So in line with most Vegas shows and a decent concert ticket. Can't wait to go next time we are in Vegas. They are going to have other shows there too besides concerts, think Super IMAX movies.

Looking at the Sphere site and Ticketmaster, seeing cheapest at $500 for the U2 show. They have a "Sphere Experience" show which is more inline with what your friend paid.

It's the most spectacular piece of modern entertainment architecture I've ever seen. Seriously. Call it gawdy, make whatever crack about Vegas you want, but the Sphere is unrivaled by anything else on earth right now for what it is. It's a case where the venue would probably outshine whatever artist was on stage. I can see where that would be too distracting for some people, but it's ****ing amazing on its own.

I can only imagine what other concerts are going to end up playing it. I wonder if they will develop a Cirque de Soleil show for it at some point?

In the video they say they are already planning one for London and then additional ones around the world.
