According to insiders, Lucasfilm and Disney are concerned because of the ongoing Writers Guild of America and Screen Actors Guild American Federation of Television and Radio Artists strikes. Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau would not be able to complete two more seasons of the show, needed to set up the base for The Mandalorian's originally planned film.

Hence to handle the situation, there are discussions about turning the fourth season into a movie

Holy crap season 3 was so bad. I just finished it a couple of days ago. It's like Jessica Chastain had it in her contract that she was only allowed to wear her helmet for so many minutes in the season. The episode with Jack black was just awful and the other group of mandalorians they met up with was the most perfectly diverse group of people in the galaxy.

Also grogu interjecting with his little no button was eye rollingly terrible. The first 2 seasons were stinking amazing and I kept hearing how bad 3 was and was certain it was all bluster, but nope. That was godawful. There is so much more that I am not even going in to, but I'm sure it has been hashed out on here already.

I didn't bother finishing last season. I have zero confidence or interest in any Star Wars production.

That fact that it isn't even some super famous actress like Jessica Chastain makes it so much worse that knockoff Jessica Chastain just carried her helmet around for 98% of the season. I thought for sure it was because she had some uppity contract that she didn't want to hide her face, but this just makes it so much worse. Does that sect of people not ever get tired of having something awkward in their hands at all times? Like they are constantly having to lug this annoying thing around. Id argue that that is more annoying than just wearing the dumb helmet.

you do have a point, she should either have a hook to hang that thing on her backpack or make it to where it comes on and off with a mechanism like Ironman.

disagree on the Grogu Yes\No button, I liked it.

I found it dumb because they want him to be a baby but then have him also be some super complex character capable of understanding nuance and serious implications of certain actions. In reality, he is just a comedic device that doesn't even appear to have a real reason for even being in the show anymore.

And yes, they should absolutely have some sort of way to secure their helmet instead of just carrying it around under their arm. Flying around space but don't know how to carry something and maintain use of both arms/hands at the same time

Haven't finished season 3, or really bothered with any other recent Star Wars content. The Filoniverse is better than anything else Star Wars has done in the last 30 years, but it's still stuck in the tiny sandbox between movies. Eventually you run out of ways to tell the same story again.

This doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, if only because Lucasfilm has stopped holding themselves to specific release dates/timelines. So many of their movies have been delayed and delayed and delayed, yet now all of the sudden they can't make a fourth season of their most popular series because of a fixed release date for a movie they already said wasn't coming out until later this decade (the end-all, be-all Feloni-verse crossover movie)? Also, as Favreau has already said, and is stated in the article, the fourth season is already written. So when the strike (hopefully) ends at some point this fall, they could easily start filming late this year/early next, and be well on their way.

I don't know, this article just reads like something written by someone who has absolutely no idea what they're talking about. I'm not definitively saying that Lucasfilm won't decide to make a Mando movie or movies instead of another season or two, but it won't be for any of the reasons named in the article.

Just have Jedi doing cool Jedi things. No empire, no galaxy wide threats, no ****ing trade wars or reincarnations of dead bad guys.
