I think overall it's been a good experience. What I'd do differently is get a better understanding from the person we rented from what was and wasn't in the apartment. We might have shopped around a little more. But it's a great location and cheaper than a hotel.Goldie Wilson said:Would be interested to hear more about this experience. Pros/cons. Would you do it again? If so would you do it differently etcaggieactor01 said:
We did yeah. Basically a one month sub lease. We had to do a whole rental application with the property management which I didn't love but it was way cheaper than trying to do a hotel for the length of time we are here.
It did feel a little weird basically having to go through a full rental application like we were moving in for good. We had to get included on all the building documentation. At the end of the day I guess it really wasn't that big a deal but it was a little bit of a hassle to go through relative to a normal Airbnb.
This one in particular isn't an amazing apartment, but the location is phenomenal for what we're doing while we're here. And the common areas are nice. I've been able to work from those. There's a nice gym and laundry in the building. We caught the fireworks for the 4th from the roof of the building.
So I would say all in all it has been positive. If we end up doing it again next year we might try another part of town but I wouldn't mind if we ended up in the same one again.
