After the first couple of songs dropped (Save the World and Death Wish), I wasn't sure where this album was going. Neither song hooked me. The rest of the album dropped Friday, and I'm on about my fifth listen through. Sooooo good.

Strawberry Woman, Middle of the Morning and Cast Iron Skillet are classic Isbell. When We Were Close sounds like a DBT song. It's all fresh, yet slightly familiar. The last two songs (This Ain't It and Miles), though, are all 400 Unit. They both have a 70s jam band feel. I can already see the live Isbell/Sadler Vaden solos in my mind.

Hands down the best 400 Unit album they've ever made.

Got my vinyl of "Live From The Ryman - Volume 2" in the mail yesterday, which is a copy days ahead of release.

Sounds great! I didn't love the sound quality of the last live album but this one sounds great and the setlist is great:

Last Song I Will Ever Write is amazing! I would kill to see that live. I love that album and it's such an amazing closing track.

Miles is greatness.

And a Tom Petty cover to boot.

Great album!
