As mentioned in the thread about Blood Meridian:
The Proposition, it's Australian so it's so far west it's an Eastern.
Other off the beaten path genre fare:
The Salvation
Old Henry
Slow West

I watched the remake of True Grit with Bridges and Damon this afternoon....really enjoyed it!
I'm a huge fan of All the Pretty Horses (and I need to read the Border Trilogy).
I enjoyed The Ballad of Lefty Brown, not my favorite but worth watching. I thought The Power of the Dog got too dark and weird....and In the Valley of Violence was eh.
Could also put Dances with Wolves and Hostiles on this list
Mine, too.filthyfifthaggie77 said:
Rio Bravo - The Duke at his best with Dean Martin, Walter Brennan, Angie Dickenson & Ricky Nelson. My all time favorite western.
....Barbarosa
I hope you followed them up with that Audrey Hepburn classic, "Breakfast at Denny's"....Moral High Horse said:
Saw some great "movies" there if you know what I mean.
Well, it's a remake of Kurosawa's "Sanjuro", so it's got that going for it, and while not as good as the original it is still a great film, IMO.rhutton125 said:
For a Few Dollars More > The Good, the Bad and the Ugly? Am I crazy? (Haven't seen the former in 20 years so could easily be wrong)

How would you catagorize 1883, if not a western? Just an action drama?
Watched the English about a month ago. It felt like a great series - then the last few episodes and the editors must have gotten really high. I had to rewind a couple of times to try and figure out something that I missed that was a critical turning point. No - they just let you infer it.AgRyan04 said:
