Surprised not to see a thread on this. No Bruce Campbell, unfortunately, but this movie was a solid horror flick. This is not at all lighthearted like it's Bruce Campbell starring predecessors. This is just non-stop dread. There are plenty of laughs, but they are interspersed between near constant dread. It's not as much a gore-fest as the 2013 remake, but there is still plenty of gore. The acting is also markedly better than the 2013 remake. Alyssa Sutherland did an amazing job. I thought the makeup and effects were top notch, as well.

If you are a fan of horror, I'd highly recommend it.

The red band trailer sure freaked the hell out of my wife before John Wick 4.

Eh, it was alright.

It was pretty meh and I love all things horror. The trailers really did this move an injustice in my opinion. Most of the big moments I had already seen. Just kind of dumb really and not at all scary. The glory of Evil Dead was the over the top kind of humor and this movie really just missed that mark. They threw in some lines from the original for just pure fanfare but not in a fun way at all.

64-year-old Bruce Campbell telling a heckler to **** off at the movie's Q&A. There are 2 kind of people in the world - those who know the greatness of Army of Darkness and everybody else.

I loved it personally. Whoever were the special effects and make up guys were top notch.

I found the movie's set up kind of confusing.

We just saw it. It was better than most modern horror films but I'll probably never watch it again.

We saw Alyssa Sutherland (the mother) at the airport during SXSW. I had no idea who she was but it was obvious she was someone famous. So many needs were walking up to her with posters asking for an autograph.

Tough season of life to go see a movie like this in the theaters, but being a huge horror fan, and having loved the 2013 update, I cannot wait to stream this one when it is available. Looks like it checks all the good boxes on my "list"
