I miss those days when there was so much good music being produced. Seemed to peak in the first half of the 80s for me. 90s still had lots of good rock but the pop side of the 80s couldn't be matched. Seems like this century has been mostly abysmal

That is simply not true. You just don't have terrestrial or satellite radio promoting young rock acts. To get started check out some of these bands-- they are clearly rock as I'm not a huge pop fan.
