Didn't Shuri hand the BP over to Umbaku? Spelling???? Which I like lots more!

No, she handed over the throne. BP and being King of Wakanda are not the same thing.

I saw it on Friday and have had some time to think about…

On the whole, I think I liked it. At least I had fun and was never bored. At the end of the day with these movies that's all I'm hoping for.

Sometimes I wonder if Marvel is a victim of its own success. I still watch End Game and think what an impressive feat that was.

I enjoyed Rudd, as always. The scene with the book reading was perfect! Jonathan Majors is doing great work with this character. I'm so conflicted when watching his performance… it's so nuanced right now. It'll be interesting to see if he plays it differently with the different variants.

Also, that end credit scene with Loki and Wilson. Very interesting indeed!!

As far as phase 4 I'd have this pretty high up there in phase 4 (which admittedly may not be saying much)…

Bottom line for me, I'm still having fun in these movies.

I do like that Scott constantly bragging about saving the world actually checks out. He's pretty much the sole reason the plan in Endgame was even put in motion.

Gotcha. Thanks. I guess I'll have to watch again…. I thought that was her passing the mantle of the BP to him. I would like him in that role so much more. Still not Bozeman, but could be a fun character.

They need to have Scott be in a fight in Legoland or something. Would be great to have him running/fighting in a model of New York City.

I do think Marvel is a victim of its own success. Infinity War/Endgame was legitimately one of the greatest Cinematic masterpieces put together and culminating in a near perfect finish. To have taken so many characters and to have woven such incredible stories all together and then to piece it so perfectly in place with those 2 last movies was incredible. I truly don't see any way they can top that. You cannot replace some of those characters and what they bring to the table. Period. It can't be done.

I liked this though, and I think Kang has real potential as a bad guy. He could help bring the interest back. Especially with Majors playing the part. He is incredible. Loved him in Devoted, and am excited to see him in Creed. He is a great actor.

Just got out. Movie was good, if pretty standard Marvel stuff. Several laugh out loud moments, mostly all Paul Rudd doing his thing. The guy playing Kang continues to impress... he'll be a good major arc villain.

I do hope THAT Kang ends up being the one we most often see. I like his vibe, and that of He Who Remains, where they're the broken person trying to undo their mistakes.

One thing I found odd is they kept trying to play out the mystery of Kang, who he is, etc. to the point of not saying his name forever. That's a major MCU departure. Like in Winter Soldier, they made no attempt to hide that it was Bucky, just out of respect for the audience. Like... we all know this is Kang, so the attempted "mystery" fell totally flat.

Agree. Marvel's success has led to demand for more and more marvel content from Disney, and now they're just trying to do too much. The overall quality is dropping and the connectivity is failing, so you feel less of a need to catch each new movie or show.

I think I read that they've decided to slow their roll on creating content, which tells me they see this is a problem, too. Hopefully future phases tighten up a bit and everything starts feeling more cohesive again.
Thanks and gig'em

Originally, as late as just a couple weeks ago, series for Secret Invasion, Loki, Ironheart, Echo, and Agatha: Coven of Chaos were ALL set to debut on Disney+ this year, a slate that was announced at Comic-Con in July of last year. Now? Only Secret Invasion and Loki are releasing on Disney+ this year, while The Marvels has been pushed back from July to November, theatrically, and Ironheart, Echo, and Agatha: Coven of Chaos will release on Disney+ in 2024. So, yeah, Feige & co have *at least* decided to spread things out further, in attempt to make each release (on streaming and in theaters) feel like more of an event. Hopefully that means spending more times on the creative as well, not rushing this stuff out, and instead taking the time to get it all right.

Went this afternoon and was not impressed. I really liked the first two Ant-Man movies, but not so much this one. I miss the days of simple stories where they're just trying to steal Pym particles or something like that. Now everything seems to be some multidimensional, intergalactic end of times battle. What I originally liked about the Marvel movies is that they focused on the hero and the issues they are dealing with in their personal lives. I think the story would have been better for me if they had Kang come to the real world and the story could focus more on Scott and Cassy fixing their relationship.

I did like the character of Kang. I wasn't a huge fan of him in Loki, but I liked him here. I do think they made a huge mistake by essentially having Ant-Man beat him. It makes him much less menacing. Compare him to Thanos, who won in his first real introduction, and Kang doesn't really seem like the kind of villain to build a whole phase on.

Saw it yesterday and while i recognize it wasn't the best marvel offering by any means, i enjoyed it.

Modok was hilarious

Caught it yesterday. I'm a little confused about not wanting to go to the quantum realm. I thought at the end of the 2nd they were going often collect stuff to help the girl.

Keep wondering if the Kang we see in Quantumania is even the Kang that will be the "big bad" when this all comes to a head. You didn't see him "die" - only be carted off by ants...then you get the whole band of Kangs in the mid-credits scene. I'm certainly intrigued about where they go with it.

He fought Scott at the end of the film and got thrown/fell into his multiverse engine...after the ant bit.

Rama-Tut was pretty emphatic that the "Exiled One" died, but Immortus and (I'm guessing) the Scarlet Centurion seemed to require convincing.

But I agree, the Conqueror probably just got sent elsewhere.

The final fight where Kang is crushed by the conflicting shrinking/growing forces that destroy his device.

I definitely didn't take that to mean he's dead…especially considering the last part with Scott walking down the street. Figure no one is dead in a Marvel movie unless you see it in plain view; at least that's been par for the course.

Or, maybe it went over my head. Thanks for the clarification.

Not having Luis in this one was a bummer. Such a hilarious character. And overall the dialogue wasn't as free flowing as the prior movies.

Big departure from the first two. Had to do a lot of world building. One thing about infinity wars was the worlds were already built in previous movies. So it could just focus on plot. This one didn't pull that much from others so it consumed a lot of time and still left a lot of unanswered questions

Still enjoyable. Not their worst. Not their best. Ultimately a set up for things to come.

Screencrush had a theory that him interacting with the pym particles and his device might allow that Kang to travel the multiverse without his magic chair....if he survived

What are the henchmen with the face masks working for Kang? Are they humans/humanoids, or robots? I don't think we ever saw a face.

I saw someone say robots but I was wondering that during the film as well. If they're robots, why give a speech about the conquest ahead..?

Same, it seemed off… but couldn't put my finger on it. Hard to catch all those details in the theater, great video!
