if I watched In Bruges already?

I mean In Bruges was top of the line work, is BofI any improvement on Gleeson/Farrell humor?

Nowhere near In Bruges.

I have not seen In Bruges in totality, just bits and pieces.
Banshees gets a lot of hate here but I loved it. Overall a desolate story, and scenery too, but there is subtle humor as well.

Do you like weird plot lines and self mutilation?
If so, then it's the movie for you.

I mean...I'm not opposed to either of those things in film.

I think one of my favorite lines from a film was in Spies Like US when the KGB officer is interrogating Chevy Chase and says "tell me your final objective or I cut off a finger!" and Chevy dead-ass responds "yours or mine?"

Less fun than In Bruges but I think I liked it more. My second favorite of the year.

Liked them both, but very different. Farrell is great.

I loved In Bruges, so I have it higher on my list, but I really enjoyed this one as well.

I think you'd be glad you watched it. Acting is excellent, and if you enjoy immersing yourself in other cultures it does an excellent job. Slow burn, but it is a memorable one.

He didn't say whose fingers. [/Chevy Chase from The Debt's post]

This is a slow plot, character driven movie so not for everyone. The acting by all of the players is excellent, top to bottom. It not often the camera and the editing process allows the audience time to see the subtle facial expressions depicting a character's thoughts. Much more than then the standard "oh, I get it now!"

I thought it was boring. Nice scenery though.

In Bruges was great.

In Bruges is one of my fav movies.

A big reason for that is how it was a very good dark humor movie that sprinkled in some true heartbreaking sorrow filled moments.
Ferrell's occasional emotional break downs, especially when he was going to kill himself

However, it jumped quickly back into dark humor so not as to get too depressing.

Banshees, at least the last act, just seems to wallow in depressing sorrow. Instead of dark humor sprinkled with real sorrow, it is dark humor that is sprinkled in on top of sorrow.

Still a good flick, but probably not one I want to watch again, whereas I will stop what I'm doing to watch Bruges any time I come across it.
