Anyone that belittles Zimmer or Williams as composers is an idiot. not that anyone here is, but in modern times, the cinema has replaced the symphony or opera. that is where people today go to have that "emotional experience". to try and compare ZImmer and Williams though is a fools errand. they are both amazing and we should all be lucky to have heard either of their scores. its like trying to compare Mozart and Beethoven.and i think given enough time, either of their scores will be thought of in the same vein as Mozart or Beethoven.
but for me personally, its Zimmer. his scores are powerful, resonant, and evoke more emotion than most anything Williams has done. HZ gets bonus points for using a wider variety of instruments to create that sound, like the church organ for Interstellar or the electric guitar, that help his music transcend the films they are part of.

America's destiny is not of our own choosing. We did not seek nor did we provoke an assault on our freedom and our way of life. We did not expect nor did we invite a confrontation with evil. Yet the true measure of a people's strength is how they rise to master that moment when it does arrive.
