I think a lot of people use "singer" and "performer" as synonyms when they are not and that's what leads to a lot of internet arguing. Miley is a top tier performer but just an above average singer. Chances are you have met people who are nobody's with much better voices (coffe shops, church praise teams or even people you didn't know who could sing). I have personally met and known close to a hundred people who have a better voice than Miley but none that could even get close to her stage presence and that's why they're not famous. That and not having the connections or even if they do have the connections, just not wanting that life.
