didn't see anything started on this one yet.

I'm completely out of stuff to watch and have been on a big WWI and WWII binge lately so this fit right in. They offered the first episode on Prime for free and after seeing it I was happy to hand over $6 a month for Epix.

saw it described somewhere as Peaky Blinders in World War II and i'd say it's spot on. 100% critic approved as of last night.

Pretty good series. This is the true story that's influenced the start of the SAS special forces.

This is a ****ing good show. Planned to watch e1 and enjoyed it enough to binge 3.

A great ww2 flick about the sas and a very badass outfit and characters.

I did have to do another quick 'eye roll' yet again over some typical modern unnecessary overdone gay overtones, but then looked up https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dudley_Clarke

Not gay, but certainly did get arrested wearing women's clothes, and what an interesting character in real life and in the show. Anyway, the show did a great job of dropping that clue, and leaving me, as well as other characters making incorrect assumptions.

The other such push was unnecessary and historically unfounded, but very subtle, and doesnt take away from the show. So the eye roll was really unfounded. Joke's on me this time.

This is rat patrol on steroids, with a modern spin and a mostly true story.

The period is early ww2, cairo and african front against rommell. War very much in doubt from the british perspective. Cairo partying it up a bit with some cool scenes. Lots of desert, ups and downs, and plot lines.

Again, these dudes were just badasses in real life and in the show.

Read the book and was good. Waiting for a free weekend of EPIX/MGM + to see the rest of the series. In the book, Dudley Clark is barely mentioned though they do mention he was arrested (in Spain I believe) dressed as a woman but really didn't emphasize him being gay. Paddy Mayne and Bill Frazer were thought to be gay but not with each other. In fact, Paddy would mercilessly pick on those he suspected to be gay.

The whole unit seemed to be filled with very flawed yet brave men. It is a wonder the unit survived. They seemed to be just making stuff up as they went and made a ton of mistakes and took unnecessary risks that cost a bunch of lives. That being said, definitely intrepid warriors.

I encourage all to read the book too.
