I'm so in. As a weather nerd, this was my favorite movie as a kid and one I will still stop and watch every time I see it on tv.

Maybe Cary elwes somehow survived being thrown by a tornado in a vehicle that subsequently exploded?

1996 had four remarkable summer blockbusters

Twister
The Rock
Mission Impossible
ID4

It's frankly amazing they never made a sequel to the Rock, or made my script of National ConRock.
Mission Impossible has become one of the biggest juggernauts in franchise history
ID4 has probably the worst sequel I have ever seen, although I haven't seen all of it by design.
Considering two of the 5-6 main characters from Twister are dead in real life, this sounds terrible.

As long as they include flying cows and go easy on the whole global warming bit it should be a hit.

This honestly has me pretty stoked...

Amblin's Steven Spielberg himself flipped for the script by The Revenant scribe Mark L. Smith, and his enthusiasm provided the impetus for the fast-tracked film.

Sources said that the hope is to bring Helen Hunt back, with a drama that focuses on the daughter she had with the character played by the late Bill Paxton. She has caught the storm-chasing bug her parents had.

No need to worry about porking Dorothy in front of the tornado, you can just fly the weather drones over the fields and barbed wire into the path.

I loved Twister in 1996. Actually that was a GREAT year for movies. At least for me personally.

My buddies & I loved Twister so much when it came to VHS and laserdisc We would make steak on the stove, with eggs and mashed potatoes. Was insanely FUN!

GREAT soundtrack too!

I'm gonna go with:

Twister 2: Nightcrawler

Which would be a trivia throwback to the original when Bill said Jonas was a nightcrawler. It would also make for a cool night tornado plot...

They need to ensure they get a cast full of charismatic actors. 2 big leads, and 4-5 good character actors.

So do we think Bill is killed by a tornado, like her dad was?
Or is that too cliche

Make a show about rebooting an old show?

Make a movie about the making of a movie?

I loved the Rock but that ID4 never got an immediate sequel was always mind boggling to me. I mean there was so so much money to be made off one (even if it was bad) that I'm shocked the studios didn't find a way to make it sooner.

I was one of the 14% audience (per google) that didn't care for twister. Don't really recall why. 19 year old moodiness probably. I just remember walking out of the theater going "eh, dumb".

I didn't hate it, but thought it was overrated for sure.

Love Paxton though. Or was it Pullman? Can't remember but still...
