Apparently someone else is too.

I've been discussing this via Disney forums and everyone says this actually makes for way less crowded parks, frees up reservations and can be a blessing in disguise. Hopefully by the time we land on Thursday. The storm will have passed.

Let's go baby!

Don't worry, as a 20-yr Tampa resident I give it about a 10% chance you'll actually see any rain. Ignore the doom and gloom from the news stations who love this time of year so they can try to pump up ratings with "hurricane this" and "hurricane that".
We don't worry about hurricanes until they're about a day out, and even then they tend to change course 50% of the time. And the middle of the state rarely gets hit hard unless its a major, major storm. You'll be fine, have a good time at Disney and take your own water and snacks.

Possible to move up your arrival by one day? IMO, your flight on Thursday is possibly the biggest issue.

Thanks for checking in. I actually bumped my flight 24 hours ahead. And Wednesday night will be our cheapest rate in Disney World resort. So hopefully it all works out.

It wasn't the line rides that got me. It was waiting in line for everything else. Want a bottle of water? 6 minute line. Lunch? 35 minutes. Ice cream? 20 minutes. Gotta poop? 10 minutes to get a stall. I was even emotionally prepared for the price gouging, just not the lines. Even with the genie thing, you are still waiting.
Hope you and yours enjoy it. I would rather slam my ***** in a car door than go again.

Avatar ride is a must. Best ride at the park when we visited (before Star Wars). Disney World is worth every penny.

You can place a mobile order for any food item and it will be ready by the time you walk there.

I've never, ever stood in line to go to the bathroom and Disney and I've been there 8 times in the past 6 years.

Congrats on your trip! My family is a nonstop DIsney trip and we're headed back in November. A few recommendations

1) Try to take the Skyliner one day, even if it's not where you're going. It's a really cool transportation method and very relaxing.

2) Try to go on Slinky Dog Dash at night if you can. It's all lit up and really cool.

3) Take a break at the Tangled rest stop / rest room area at Magic KIngdom. THere are all sorts of cool things to look at - wanted posters from the movie, hoofprints from Maximus the horse, and hidden Pascals - the little chameleon who is Rapunzel's pal.

4) If you want a cool, non crowded view during the fireworks, go on the Peoplemover, you'll be up in the air and sitting down instead of standing in a crowd.

if that system stalls, seems like getting there on the 29th could be an issue.

if/when you get there though, hope you guys have fun!

OP whatever you do, when you get back please hop on the Star Wars thread and discuss your Galaxy's Edge experience in excruciating detail. Be sure to include all of the ride discussions and tips on what to do. TCTTS will want to participate and hear all about it.

we went spring break, and I never waited in line for bathroom either.

And we brought our own water and food, but you're right, order in the app, no waiting.

The mobile dining app is worth using to watch the faces of the people standing in the 30 deep line. We went to Galaxy's Edge by coincidence a few weeks after it opened at Disney land. Getting blue milk ahead of 75 dummies in line was fantastic

#1 and #4 are great recs. Skyliner was relaxing and just a small bit of fun where you're not necessarily expecting it. The PeopleMover may seem lame, but is actually a great place to get off your feet for a few minutes, get a bit of AC when it takes you inside Space Mountain, and as stated, it does offer a great (if the moving part of it does not bother you) view for the fireworks.

My family typically doesn't bother with the fireworks. You know what all those folks standing/sitting around near the front of the park means? Less lines for the rides.

Could you summarize that in a script. Probably the greatest script ever written ( ok well 2nd greatest).

A weather board I follow stated this was coming several hours ago. I didn't really believe it, must have been someone on the inside. Some of the Florida natives say Disney closing is a sign of the apocalypse.
