For a brief moment, I was thinking thank God no one in my family did the city name thing. Then I remembered, oh yeah, PawPaw had a cousin named Odessa.

Enjoyed the movie, and was surprised that Kutcher's character was my favorite part of it. Really smart, profound dialogue in every scene he was in, and Ashton played it down the middle enough that I bought in.

The opening scene with Novak and John Mayer was pretty amazing too.

Yeah, I was surprised how much I liked it.

No. The brother was trying to use towns he thought the guy would have heard of. He said they were about 5 hours from Abilene, which is pretty spot on for Marfa area. He flew into a local airport.

The Ashton Kutcher character, aside from anyone I knew in real life, I hope yall saw the white nudie suit and knew that was Gram Parsons. Friend of a friend said the last time he saw Gram play he knew it was the end.

Just watched it tonight and thought it was fantastic. I thought I knew where it was going and then I didn't, then I did again and then I didn't. Very entertaining.

I really liked it.
No one is claiming it's the Godfather. Just enjoy it. Don't over analyze it.
In no way did it put New Yorkers in a positive light.
Kind of a Ted Lasso feel. You start out thinking they are making fun of the people but then they switch.
Certainly worth 2 hours.

For some reason when I first looked at the thread title I read Vengeful (by V.E. Schwab - sequel to Vicious).
Probably the inclusion of the auteur with the two letters and full last name.

Finally got around to watching it and really enjoyed it!

"If everything is everything, then nothing is anything"...very true in our current culture.

Also did not see the ending coming...which makes me feel really stupid because his character literally explains chekhov's gun prior. It was a real "duh" moment for me haha.
