One of the best comedies ever. One of my top 5 favorite movies all time. The sequel is great too, for the record. Just like the original, the more you watch it, the funnier it gets.

An all-time classic comedy.

I know. There is no way an anchorman can do 1000 bicep curls.

I know this sounds cheesy but Anchorman has been a significant source of humor in our marriage since we first watched it in 2006, ironically while visiting my brother's family in San Diego. We were hooked instantly and it has never really petered out. Anchorman speak has stayed with us. Some examples:

When she knows I'm not paying attention
Her: Urban, are you listening?
Me: Nope

Bad phone connection:
Me: babe, babe, I can barely hear you
Her: Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee

When she is chewing me out for something
Her: Geez, when are you going to get that fixed....
Me: What? I'm sorry I don't speak Spanish (she's latina)

Also used daily/weekly in our house:
I immediately regret this decision

I was in the fire academy back in 05-06, and this movie was a constant source of entertainment for me and my classmates. "I've got Jack Johnson and Tom O'Leary waiting for ya"

I also enjoy that "…with Will Ferrell" was included in the thread title for clarity.

A long time before marriage and children I went to see Dodgeball and Anchorman at the theaters on the same damn day.

So the sequel is worth seeing?

Yes. It tries too hard but it's worth it.

That gladiator fight scene was hilarious. At first I was WTF? Then I expected them to not address it afterwards as if it were a metaphor or something. But nope, they were talking about tridents and stuff. I can't think of another movie that did that (other than the sequel).

My wife speaks French, and I drop this line (or some variation of it) on her all the time if she uses any of it around the house

We use glass case of emotion, little gentleman, I don't believe you, and probably half a dozen others all the time.

In case you didn't know, the original pitch to the movie studio by Will Ferrel was for them to all be on board an airplane that crash lands on a remote island where they end up having to fight a bunch of monkeys trained in martial arts.

Anchorman and Zoolander are both movies I didn't care for much on first viewing, but have progressively gotten better with each viewing to the point where they are now iconic comedies, in my opinion.
