Finished it the other day. its exactly what you want it to be and nothing more. admittedly, i was skeptical based on the trailer, and few minor quibbles aside, i really enjoyed it. looking forward to season two.
I especially loved the part where he was able to find clothes that fit from the Salvation Army donation box in a deserted parking lot.

I am pretty sure he puts a shirt on, it doesn't fit, and he switches back to his previous wet shirt.
When he grabs the gun out of Roscoe's holster, they specifically make holsters to prevent that from happening. No proof she'd have one and a minor quibble, but it is there

Just binged the whole thing on Friday. Never read the books. Thought Cruise did fine, but I knew the complaints about him not matching the character. This version is a lot of fun. Looking forward to the next series.
And yes, it gets a bit cheesy at times...like Findlay jamming to 38 Special. I found that a harder stretch than any of the action. But just a really enjoyable character and fun story to follow.

That was a little detail I noticed about the show. He had really good firearm discipline. Not surprising for an MO but surprising for a TV show. When Roscoe first gave him that Cannon he quickly broke it down before just assuming he was good to fire that gun.
We finished it last night. Really enjoyed it. The body count on the show is pretty impressive. Almost want to go back and do a rewatch to figure out counts for:
A)Reacher
B) Rest of the good guys
C) Bad guys
My best guess is 20, 10 & 10. Busy week for the coroner.

Really cheesy - nowhere near as good as Bosch - but still enjoying mostly because of Reachers direct / no BS attitude.

finally wrapped this up. we enjoyed it, but it wasn't "must see". obviously took us a while to get through it.
i am glad to see they're getting a S2. this one has the potential to be a series that gets better as they put more money into it and with reacher's nomadic style, it will be easy to dramatically improve the supporting cast from season to season.

What was up with the dirty FBI agent randomly appearing in the last fight scene, after Reacher shot him? They never showed how he got there or anything, and he died almost immediately. It just seemed pointless.

He seemed almost Autistic in some of his dialogues but part of that is showing the viewer what he is planning/thinking and some of that might be just a higher functioning person

Season 2 reviews so far are really good.
Saw the movies first. Started reading the books. Watched the series. I couldn't understand why people were upset that Tom Cruise was playing Reacher until I started reading the books. Though I still enjoy the movies, I see why they were upset. Alan Ritchson, in the series, is a monumentally better fit based on the books. I really enjoyed Season 1. To each their own, but I've found myself kind of liking weekly releases. Harkens back to the appointment viewing days of pre-streaming. Seems to generate better conversation about shows on here too.
