No particular order, but every one of these albums I generally listen to from start to finish rather than dip in and out of for favorite songs. So I figure that qualifies the for this list.
Prince - Purple Rain - The live show in MN where Prince first played Purple the song Rain in concert (before the album release) is a youtube treasure. A lot of that live performance made it onto the album.
Led Zeppelin - IV - Get my classic rock on with this gem
The Beatles - Abbey Road - What an exit. The love you take is equal to the love you make.
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon - From midnight laser shows to dark rooms and headphones, this album never disappoints.
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here - A beautiful homage to a lost bandmate and brother, get you some THC in ya and some BOSE noise cancelling headphones and go for a ride.
Chris Isaak - Live at the Fillmore - I've seen Chris Isaak in concert half a dozen times and he is fantastic live. This album really captures the live experience very well.
Bjork - Vespertine Live - Sure Bjork is a space cadet but this album is a fantastic representation of her talent and ability to bring it live.
Eagles - Eagles Live - You all know every song by heart and all the little lyric change ups for this live album, and who hasn't belted out Seven Bridges Road on a drunken evening?
Fleetwood Mac - Rumors - The band may have been going through a lot of turmoil to get this album done, but man the result is classic. Dreams (Take 2) on the expanded album is a haunting gem.
Judy Garland - Judy at Carnegie Hall - Just an amazing live performance from a haunted talent. Not only is she in fantastic voice and at the top of her game, but the effusive crowd reaction is what makes this one of my favorite listens, start to finish.
Quite an eclectic list with some great live performances. I love artists whose live work improves on the studio version.
