Yea I used it but imo any town from shore acres to galveston proper is fine with me. I'd prefer galveston county over Harris though for sure.

In the greater DFW area probably. That's where everyone that thinks their **** don't stank lives. It's the Mecca for born Texans who want to be "Texan" and think they are better than you, while Austin is the Mecca for non-Texans who want to be "Texan" with the feel of California.

Disclaimer: I was born and partially raised in Galveston County and have mostly lived in Buda/Kyle for the last 22 years. My absolute disdain for DFW also has excessively influenced my opinion.

Id like to have a clear lake area or galveston county aggie lunch or happy hour. Would be good times.

Glad to see Boondoggles is still in business. Not a better place to blow Friday night's tips from dishing out Pappadeux platters and Hurricanes.

Go to the lighthouse district. That is the area you drive thru on your way to the boardwalk. Several bars and restaurants in that area in walking distance. This is not Tillman Fertitta. Construction on the bridge can make traffic a mess, but only 2 more years!

MBL gave a good tip. Pier 6 in San Leon will REALLY surprise as well. Nice restaurant that had no business being there but is packed.

Been there done that,, It's good, but I like eating what I catch with a side of rocky's at the bar drinking lone star on draft. That's the coast. I don't need sit down table dressed fancy over priced seafood when I live next to an ocean. Top water gives me the fancy, and trashy for a reasonable price.

Fair enough. I went there last week for the first time and was like WTF is this place, I thought we were in San Leon

Pier six didn't impress me a ton. The setting is great and the building is nicely done, but the food was nothing special at a higher than average price. I will give them another try, but first go was just ok. If I am driving down there, I am a Gilhoolies man.

I just don't think you can compare the two just due to the nature of the joints. I had smoked redfish dip and the burger and a couple of the lava oysters or whatever they are called and I liked them all. I enjoyed the setting and it being a nicer joint without being TOO nice and not giving any money to uncle Tillman. You could be coming off q month long bender and smell like ashtrays, strippers and petrochemicals and be just fine in gilhoolies, you'd probably want to at least bath to head over to pier 6.

Watched this flick last night, was a bit creepy with the girl being so young, but worth the watch.

Some of the non actors clearly can't act but whatever.

Watched it last month. They even had a scene from Ocean Cabaret.

I recall driving by Jimmy Walker's growing up in the 70s and it was always this unattainable place we couldn't go to. I thought it was really cool and begged to go there, especially when the red sign was lit up at night, but I never had a problem with the seafood we managed to get at less expensive establishments.

It is odd though, I try to look it up online and search results show it's still open, but is it a Landry's now?
