My idea of a LARPer is neckbeard fat white guys so the whole thing seemed off to me with only one of them being a fat neckbeard. Seemed like way too many socially adjusted people that bathed regularly. Maybe I'm out of touch.

I would totally larp if I knew people to larp with...pics and stuff I've seen + cosplay at comicons make it look pretty diverse.

It takes a certain amount of either self-confidence or lack of self awareness to LARP. It's one thing to be a nerd, but it's another level to make sure everyone around you knows you are a nerd.

The LARPers I encountered on campus all fit Decay's description.

I also met some SCA people long ago (Society for Creative Anachronism). They were cool but fit that description. And they had real weapons. Real swords, daggers, and crossbows and such as.

I guess Civil War re-enactment participants are about the same, but somehow I don't have a problem with re-enactors continuing to vote.

LARPing looks like fun, but the people that do it take it way more seriously than I would ever want to.

Same. Cops play sports like softball when they want to relive glory days. They don't larp.

My wife's second cousin makes jewelry for renfairs and travels nationwide to sell it. She lives in a compound with other people that do the same. It's not where you go to find socially well-adjusted people who can hold down a 9-5. Her kid is a nightmare with no healthy boundaries.

It's one thing to dress up once or twice a year for fun. It's another to rearrange your social calendar to do it every week (or day as it were for this show).

For the record he had hearing problems in the comics as early as 1983.



The hearing aids and ASL were pretty big plot points from Matt Fraction & David Aja's run on Hawkeye in 2014. It is really great, if you like this show at all you should read it.

Hawkeye going deaf in the comics is actually pretty cool. IIRC the villain had a signal that would mind control, and he was going to have to fight Mockingbird, so he put the arrowhead of his sonic arrow in his mouth so he'd deafen himself to the controlling sound and he could subdue them bad guy. Kinda hardcore.

Similar to Natasha in Black Widow.

The Fraction/Aja run is one of my all time faves.

Just finished this and loved it! Was great to see Kingpin again as he was incredible in DD. Just a fun show. I kinda like the low powered heroes more than the super supes as they just feel a bit more vulnerable.

How about Kate just straight up murdering multiple track suit guys though? Talk about a psychopathic young woman!

I just got to this part. You've got to be ****ing kidding me with that comment. There was zero "yelling". Everything she said in that exchange was the same tone and volume. It's no different than a straight guy saying his wife got it for him or a straight girl saying her husband got it for her. If you're offended by that then you're just trying to be offended.

I apologize for exaggerating. Yeah she said it at normal volume.

They didn't do any, outside of the full scene from the Rogers musical. Which was hilarious.

late to the party...but I finally watched episode 6 last night...and it was very, very good.

the Kingpin was great. I liked that he was a big part of the finale, but also that he didn't dominate the finale (like Kang did to the Loki series).

Wasn't expecting to see Kate fight him one-on-one. That was awesome. Kate looks very regal in the way she fires her arrows. Stands tall -- great posture.

I also liked that Kate's mom stayed the same to the end. Did not show any remorse or regret for what she had done. Remained true to her convictions. Need more Vera Farmiga down the line.

strangely enough...as all the relationships came to a resolution...I thought Maya & Kazi's was the best one. Had the greatest emotional punch. Alaqua and Fra Fee were really good.

it will be interesting to see where Kate and Yelena appear next. Would like to see them interact with some of the heavyweight heroes (and villains)

That was a lot of fun. The MCU has the new Hawkeye/Widow if the want to go that way.

Side note: what is Kingpin. I saw the first couple seasons of Daredevil, so I get that his a super mob boss terrifying guy, butI must have missed the super human strength. Is he a mutant? I guess that's going to be an MCU thing at any minute.
