My wife and I enjoyed this movie.
IMHO, the juice of this flic was well worth the squeeze of going to see it.
It showcases the hotness of Elisha Cuthbert in a story that’s right in line with the intelligence and insight parameters often found on this board.
Think of an updated and seriously heated up “Risky Business,” the flic other than “The Outsiders” and “Taps” which introduced many folks to the limited acting genius of Tom Cruise, combined with the sexy subject matter of “Boogie Nights.”
This movie gives verification to that nagging worry of all parents that “prom’ and “promiscuity” are synonyms and, beyond that, generates a new realization that “prom’ and “porn” are just a quick position switch and one more hump on a letter from being the same, if only in fantasy.
Actually, I fear this clever film with its PG-13 sounding title may not register on the movie-going radar of many folks who would dig it.
Surely there’s plenty of exposed scenery for T and A aficionados, but also good acting, winning characterizations, bunches of quotable lines and lots of entertaining low and highbrow humor.
It borders on being a little long and, indeed, with each new twist I feared the plot might be petering out to a limp ending, spoiling my very favorable reaction to that which had come before.
However, looking back now, I can’t think of much that should have been left out and I certainly chuckled harder and harder the further it delved into what I found an interesting, if over the top, storyline.
It’s the funniest and best comedy I’ve seen since “Eurotrip” and, IMO, one even more deserving of a “take a chance and go see it” recommendation to an open-minded adult audience.
