Most have already been mentioned, but we did watch Bladerunner in Economics.

Not a movie, but I was in a junior high choir class - you might call it the "B-team" class. It was the ones who had no interest in singing and just needed a fine arts credit. We screwed around so much in class that shortly after the Christmas break we had the instructor to the point where he didn't care anymore and would do what we said. So we told him to bring in a TV/VCR cart everyday.

One of the kids would record hip hop music videos on a VHS tape during the day, then bring it to watch during class the next day. The BT&H "Crossroads" video was on every day and is forever burned into my memory now.

Voyage of the Mimi

I guess it's not a movie, but that was the first thing I thought of

In 8th grade Am Hist, I showed Glory! Best film ever for CW & the struggles of the time. The first time I showed it I had about 50 post-it notes all over my desk as ideas for discussion hit me! Homelessness, gangs, loyalty, loss, freedom, etc.
In HS government I showed Skokie. TRUE story of Nazi party in Am parading in Skokie, Illinois where many Holocaust survivors had settled. A very passionate, tense story perfect for the First Amendment. If you've never watched it, I highly recommend it, especially now.

The girl who played Apollonia in The Godfather was only 16 when they filmed the topless wedding night scene. Would never happen now.
