So my turtlebeach headphones have seen better days. I normally watch movies and things late in night through my Xbox and use my turtlebeach headphones. However I was wanting to get some that connect directly to the TV and skip the Xbox middleman. Any recommendations for movie watching? I have a few year old LG OLED and would like some under 300-400. Most popular ones I see are Sennheiser RF 175 and Sony m3or m4. Seems like for the best connection I should get some sort of RF headphone instead of a Bluetooth option like the m3 or m4. However seems like there are quality and battery complaints on the sennheiser. Any suggestions?

I love my M3s. The big selling point on the M4s has to do with better microphones and a new noise cancellation algorithm, which you could probably skip if you're looking for TV watching. Mine will pair with just about anything without any kind of latency whatsoever, including my cheap Toshiba bedroom TV via bluetooth. Considering the M3s can be had on the (relative) cheap since the M4s just launched, it's an extremely solid option. Battery life is incredible, too.

How is the Bluetooth connection distance to your tv with the m3s?

I have no input as far as using the Sony's specifically to watch TV, but they are just all around fantastic headphones. I've used my XM2's at work just about every day for the past 4 years and they are still going strong. Love them.

I should correct and say it actually connects to my TV via the bluetooth on the fire stick, not the TV itself. It's fine from about 20 feet, but I haven't tested further than that.

I have a few years old LG OLED TV too and have used two different bluetooth headphones and the connection had always been fine.

I had Sony MDR-XB950BT which had great sound and fit over (not on) the ear, but weren't made great and I went through two that broke in the exact same spot.

I now have a cheaper Soundcore Life Q20 I found out about through a CNET article and they're working quite well too. They also have noise-canceling which I don't find mandatory, but occasionally I use if I feel the fridge or a/c are too loud.

I have Sony WH-1000XM3s. I shopped hard in that price range and they were far and away my overall favorite (mainly use them for music). But they work great with my LG UHD that is a couple of years old.

Edit: As mentioned, battery life is very good. But also, they charge up very quickly as well.

They really are very, very good. The app is great for tuning, too. Mine will hold a charge for weeks without any kind of issue whatsoever.
