Early in the movie, two days before Thanksgiving, Kevin beats Neil Page to a cab, which ultimately didn't matter because of the flight delay and reroute. However, I'd like to see a movie about the zany adventures Bacon's character has by catching that cab.

Not a reboot or remake, but a same timeline, same universe independent storyline.

That storyline may be "She's Having a Baby" which corresponds pretty closely. But if that's the case, Bacon was screwed trying to get back to Chicago, also.

Random thread deserves a random response. I've seen She's Having a Baby in the theater more than any other movie in my life.

I've seen most John Hugh's movies multiple times, but I've never seen "She's Having a Baby". Any good?

My buddy is secret service so he knows trump. Trump appeared in "Two Weeks Notice" with Sandra Bullock, who was in "Loverboy" with Kevin Bacon.

I specifically remember I watched she's having a baby on video in the middle of the night while back home and realized I loved Boston. I guess I listened to more country before that.

Plot twist: Neal helps Del get over his wife's passing, and introduces him to a co-worker that is helping a polka band get more exposure.

Del befriends the band, learns how to play the clarinet, and takes over as the bandleader under a pseudonym.

That band's name? The Kenosha Kickers.

So after Kevin Bacon knocks up the girl, he flees to a small town where dancing is outlawed?

Ironically, I don't remember much about it because I haven't seen it since. I think it was decent though.

We saw it that many times because we weren't driving yet and our Friday night routine was to get dropped off at the mall and then walk next door to the theater and watch a movie. It must have been the only movie out at the time that was decent and/or that wasn't R.

Saw it 4-5 Friday's in a row.

Since we are going random...when John Candy died that was one of the few celebrity deaths that really hurt. I was driving home from work and remember exactly where on the drive I was when I heard. Just such a treasure of a comedian - really funny but with a huge heart.

Here's my problem with Planes Trains. I've watched it every Thanksgiving for decades. It's a tradition I love, but it has a huge Wooderson effect. "I keep getting older, they stay the same age". It used to be a funny show about old people having funny problems. Now I see young man dealing with corporate hassles, trying to get home to his cute young kids and hot 30-something wife.

Allow me to introduce myself, Gus Polinski How are you? Polka King of the Midwest? The Kenosha Kickers? No? That's okay I thought you might have recognized-- ...Anyways I had a few hits a few years ago. That's why I... Polka, Polka, Polka?(singing) Polka, polka, polka... No? Twin Lakes Polka... Domavougi Polka A.K.A. Kiss me polka...polka twist?

Another plot twist -- Kevin Bacon needed to catch that cab to catch his flight back to medical school, where he and a few friends would intentionally die to record what happens. After that experience scared the bejezzus out of him, he changed course and went to law school, joined the JAG Corps and became a lawyer for the USMC...and a lousy softball player.

Ally Sheedy plays a woman who does makeup for the deceased and is John Candy's love interest in Only the Lonely (1991).

And in suspension-of-disbelief requirement almost as big as the Joker saying Maggie Gyllenhall was "beautiful" in Dark Knight, Ally Sheedy had two different Brat Packers fighting over her in St. Elmo's Fire.

I'm about to crush this whole theory!

In the background of a scene in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, the movie "She's Having A Baby" is actually playing in the background and you see Kevin Bacon.

So.....

In the world of P,T and A....the movie She's Having A Baby exists, meaning Bacons character in that movie couldn't be the same character that's in the opening scene.

However....

It could still be Kevin Bacon as himself and just him saying **** it I'm getting to this cab first cause I'm Kevin ****ing Bacon!

Even worse is Molly Ringwald, the same plain mousy looking ginger chick goes from being the girl nobody but Jake and a nerd ever noticed in Sixteen Candles to the hot popular girl in Breakfast Club. It isn't as if Molly Ringwald had a huge development year between films she was the same plain looking girl in both movies.

Been watching this every year for decades at Thanksgiving, and I've always found Kevin Bacon's cameo interesting ... but this year I noticed something related for the first time ...

When Neal's wife is lying in bed watching TV waiting for him, she's actually watching "She's Having a Baby."

Funny that I've literally seen this movie 50 times and never took the time to notice that.

Let's be honest, the Joker had just finished kissing her brother. By comparison, she's beautiful.
