Most of the audience is booing/disturbed by the dance scene.
It is clear they don't approve and that is the point of the movie.
Kids should stay kids and not be hyper sexualized when most of them haven't had their periods yet
It's still messed up that they had child actors dancing like that though.
I saw a quote that basically said that filming the child actors dancing like that to show how inappropriate it is was akin to actually murdering somebody to show how bad murdering someone was.

Little extreme, but I get the idea.
It is a little extreme, but the principle applies I think. Like I said above, the fact that there are parents who allow their daughters to 'perform' like that is distressing. But there is no shortage of them, apparently.

So far no one on this thread has said that the scene was ok.
It's like you are trying to get people to be more mad than they are, everyone already disapproves. It's just a question of degrees.

Jmo.

Pretty much this here.

Doesn't that describe the Dont **** with Cats show that they have?

I am looking forward to the inevitable Running Man reboot where they actually kill the contestants.

Don't care about cuties as I would never watch it in the first place.

Just another way for parents who hate their own life to live vicariously through their kids; this vicarious scenario happens to be child abuse and harmful to the development of children.

No one old enough to remember the movie "Kids"

Friend of mine hung on to Kids to show his daughter as a cautionary when she got old enough. I get the franks scenes of horny teenagers as part of the day in the life story.

Larry Clark also directed the movie Bully, based on a true story, about teenagers older than Telly and Casper. Made me think Clark is a bit off. He sure likes random nudity.

My entire plan for teaching my kids the importance of safe sex and the dangers of drugs is to make them watch Kids, Basketball Diaries, and Trainspotting

I like a titty flash as much as the next guy. As a child of the 80s, there's a certain fondness for the locker room antics or lakeside skinny dip. But Bully seemed forced. Unless every 18 year old girl murder suspect strips completely to go pee on a pregnancy stick

I've commented on this before and I wonder if anyone else has noticed this (or maybe I'm delusional), but you don't get casual nudity in movies anymore like you did in the 80's. Back then you would get casual nudity even in some PG films every now and then.

Now, it seems like the only nudity you see are in straight to video crap movies with no name casts and you definitely don't get it in PG movies, obviously. But even PG-13 movies don't seem to have casual nudity anymore. It's like nudity has been reserved for sex scenes only in R rated movies.

Definitely. My wife and I watched Revenge of the Nerds about a month ago and had this exact discussion.

No nudity because most major pictures that get made now have star power, and stars are far less likely to go nude. Think back to ROTN, none of the females in that cast were famous, much easier to get them to show stuff.

Add to that the so desire to appeal more to women for your film who don't want to see women objectified in the same way men do, and avoid #metoo on your film as sexist, and here we are.

I know he is a love him/hate him type of person, but I thought Ben Shapiro had a good nuanced take about the movie (I have not seen any part of it).

I just can't take anything Ben Shapiro says seriously anymore after that devastating self-owning that he gave himself regarding the moisture content of his wife's lady bits.

Yeah I was watching John Wick on TV the other day thinking about this. You can show a guy getting his brains blown out on tv, no problem.

Well, I saw Kids in the theater back when I was in high school, and I'm not sure your kids will learn the lessons you're hoping. I thought it was hilarious and it offered me no profound life lessons. I'm sure if I watched it now I would thing it's f'd up, but as a kid I loved the movie.

I told him have fun never watching sports again. You live life boycotting every last thing you disagree with, and, just like you said, you're going to end up naked and alone and living off saltine crackers (though I'm sure even Nabisco will eventually manage to piss some people off).
What a shallow view of life.

As if man were meant to spend it sitting in front of a glowing screen.

Wouldn't call it a boycott...it is just that everytime I see him all I can think is "there is a dude who told the world he doesn't make his wife wet."

Kind of how everytime you see a Mormon or a Scientologist and you just think "nice dude, shame he got wrapped up in a cult"

There was a father and son sitting in front of me when I saw 300 in the theater. The father covered the kid's eyes when the Oracle was on screen and you could see her boobs and started to walk him out of the theater during the sex scene. Then encouraged him to get excited during all the killing.

It was very strange

It was when he was pitching a fit about that song WAP and posted a tweet that said something along the lines of "my doctor wife told me that WAP isn't right and is a sign that something is medically wrong"

Which leads one to believe that he is too stupid to understand hyperbole (which he isn't) or isn't familiar with female anatomy and is probably not capable of arousing his wife (which seems likely)
Old Tom Morris
How long do you want to ignore this user?
The lyrics are basically that you need a mop to clean up, and his comment was that you might want to see a doc if you get that wet. Anyone getting hung up on that is a moron
Duncan Idaho
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Right. The lyrics were hyperbole and he felt the need to address them. Which either means he is too stupid to understand hyperbole or cant arouse his wife. I don't think he is that stupid but he definitely seems like the kind of dude that can't get a chick wet.
Old Tom Morris
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Or people are too stupid to understand his own sarcasm. Perhaps you misunderstood the moron comment. His overall point was that the lyrics are trashy.

The guy is in his mid 30s and worth about $20 mill. I'm not sure he's concerned whether some guy with 25k posts on texags thinks he can get his wife wet
