Great Live Band - NOFX - nothing like a live punk show, i'm a little too old for it now...

The good thing about being too old for the floor is that you can afford to pay for the VIP balcony seats in a lot of venues. Of course, then you have to deal with Fat Mike calling you "bougey" throughout the show. Worth it.

Hate - Beatles- I find a few of their megahits ok but overall hard pas.

Overrated - Nirvana- cannot stand them and dislike almost all grunge in general. I like some Audioslave & STP

Under-appreciated - Eclipse from Sweden- new hard rock band that is amazing but rock fans in the USA are overall not looking for anything new.

Listen to Over and Over - Led Zeppelin - hard to disagree with LZ

Made me Fall in Love with Music -KISS- me and my older brother would act out like we were in concert in the living room when I was around 4 or 5 years old.

Changed my Life - I don't think any band really changed my life.

Surprised Me - Berlin- saw them at 80s in the Sand last year and put on one heck of a show

Guilty Pleasure - Bob Marley- I have never touched the ganja in my life and cannot stand the smell but I love his music when chilling by the pool.

Should Have Seen Live by Now - Scorpions

Great Live Band - Iron Maiden- I have seen them at least 5 times and love it

Favorite - ugh so hard- Overall I would have to go with LZ

Honorable Mention - Greta Van Fleet- yeah they are heavily influenced by LZ but that is fine for me. Love their new music and put on a great show.

Hate - Can't think of a lot of mainstream music I truly hate...maybe that awful screaming death metal stuff

Overrated - Any number of modern pop artists. Britney, Katy Perry, etc. How do these people get famous? I grew up in the same town and had mutual friends with Kelly Clarkson. When she won American Idol it really dawned on me that if she, as a random girl from a smallish city in Texas, could have that kind of vocal talent, how many other thousands of people are out there who are remarkably more talented than the vast majority of acts that become famous?

Under-appreciated - The Band. I know they were very highly regarded back in the day, but my impression as a millennial is that their reputation hasn't carried through as prominently as some other major bands of their time. Also, John Mayer as a guitarist. Saw that guy at a guitar festival once riffing with BB King and it was shocking.

Listen to Over and Over - Any of the first 5 Zep albums, or Kind of Blue

Made me Fall in Love with Music - Tough to say...lots of the classic rock music I listened to with my dad when I was a kid.

Changed my Life - Cant think of anything quite this impactful on me

Surprised Me - Not sure...

Guilty Pleasure - Coldplay

Should Have Seen Live by Now - Not a huge concert person, and can't think of anyone I haven't seen that I would really love to

Great Live Band - See above regarding not having been to lots of concerts, but if I had to pick from the ones I've seen...maybe the Eagles

Favorite - Zep

Honorable Mention - Avett Brothers. A previous poster noted that others in the genre do it better, but I either don't agree, or am unfamiliar with other acts to compare them to. The album with No Hard Feelings came out the year after my dad died and that song tore me up every time...still one of my favorite songs period.

Guilty Pleasure - Chvrches, or any of those synth pop bands

Should Have Seen Live by Now - Rage

Great Live Band - The Mighty Mighty Bosstones

Favorite - Counting Crows

Honorable Mention - Otis Redding

Overrated - Radiohead. I like a few of their songs, but all in all, I just don't get the praise that is heaped on them.
This was my second option for this question.
You have to be in a certain "state of mind" for Radiohead. Then it all makes perfect sense.

Hate - Mariah Carey. Just nauseating...

Overrated - KISS

Under-appreciated - Zebra. Why they weren't bigger, I'll never understand.

Listen to Over and Over - Old Jimmy Buffett. 1970's Buffett.

Made me Fall in Love with Music - Boston. Beach Boys.

Changed my Life - Jerry Jeff Walker.

Surprised Me - Steely Dan. Went from hating them to absolutely loving them.

Guilty Pleasure - Yacht Rock. All of it. Especially from cover bands (like Pleasure Craft from Canada).

Should Have Seen Live by Now - Grateful Dead. Missed my chance.

Great Live Band - The Mavericks.

Great Live Band - NOFX - nothing like a live punk show, i'm a little too old for it now...

Got a story for you ags.

I went to the Warped Tour 25th Anniversary Show in California last year and NOFX was the headliner for the last night. So all day they keep pushing back the sets and making them a little longer so NOFX winds up going on an hour later than normally planned, no big deal, but weird. So their set time finally comes up and nothing really happens for like 30 minutes before Kevin Lyman comes on stage and lets everyone know that NOFX was stuck in Minnesota and they did a mad dash all day to get them a private jet to they could still make it to the show. The venue has a noise ordinance in place so no matter what they would have to end the show at 11 pm. Even with the private plane and a police escort to the venue they were likely not going to get there until 10:30 and get a 30 minute set tops. So while we are waiting they got a bunch of the bands that performed that day to do NOFX covers while we waited. They had the guys from Starting Line, The Used, Goldfinger, Sum 41, and a bunch of others do NOFX songs which they had worked on that afternoon. It was really cool and definitely a once in a life time opportunity to see this massive supergroup.

So we get word they landed and are on their way, we see the police lights and they showed up with 30 minutes on the clock before they'd have to shut down, basically a true warped tour set. Their gear is already on stage and ready to go minus the guitars which the guys had on them. They get on stage tuned up a little bit and started what was one of the most disappointing performances I've ever seen. Fat Mike was clearly drunk and his voice was completely shot. The rest of the band tried their best and they ran through some of their hits but there was a lot of starts and stops and confusion the whole time over what song they were going to play next. It's one of those moments when they could have completely saved the day and they totally whiffed it.

Bro! I remember when that happened. I watched it play out on instagram and facebook. Sucks Mike sheet the bed. I've been to far too many shows when he's done that. Still, cool bit of history to be in attendance for.

Club 6400 between Richmond and Hillcroft! Is it too late for me to add RevCo or Ministry to my list?!

I created my Spring 1992 Aggie schedule to give me Fridays off because Ministry was playing at Numbers on Friday. Really cool concert.
