With the craziness all around us right now I think it would be good to have an uplifting song list going. A few of my favorites are below. How about yours?

Amazing Grace

Odd, but I find all three of those songs to be kind of melancholy/cathartic more than uplifting. Beautiful yes, but they make me more reflective of the past than uplifting and hopeful of the future so to speak.

Like that version of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" I first heard, and therefore will always associated with, the scene of Mark Greene dying on E.R. A beautiful, tear jerker of a scene, but I wouldn't describe as uplifting.

You make good points and I can see them as that as well. I believe they are uplifting in the sense that even when all around seems out of control there is good to be seen and appreciated. There are things to be thankful for and things to look forward to when troubles are not as common or even non-existent. What are some of the songs you find uplifting?

Three Little Birds - Bob Marley

Kind of an unknown outside of the metal world.. but the dude is basically a happy, uplifting metalhead who throws in love songs to his wife in the middle of prog metal albums.

I'll warn you, Devin townsend on youtube (or amazon unlimited, spotify, etc) can be a wormhole.

He is one of the most diverse artists around these days and if you become a fan, it kind of engulfs you. He has like 25 albums in as many years. He has a new age album that you can meditate or do yoga to (Ghost), an ambient/chill country album (casualties of cool), some more straight forward radio rocking stuff (transcendence, epicloud), some prog metal sprinkled throughout 75% of his records, some completely experimental/noise albums (devlab), a few concept albums, but most albums are chock full of you never know what.

If you have time, listen to his 2019 Empath record to get an idea. It's kind of everywhere but even he says is a culmination of all his career. Castaway/Genesis, a choir filled opener followed by a prog rock opera, all the way to a song that sounds like it could be from a kid's Disney soundtrack, 'Why?' also an uplifting song in it's own unique way that I'll add to the thread:

Happy People by Little Big Town always puts a smile on my face...especially the video.

Natasha Bedingfield has made a career of singing uplifting & inspiring lyrics to upbeat & fun music.

She has a few to choose from, but "Unwritten" one is my favorite I guess.
