I'm just excited to get Steve Carell back on TV.

I think the cast, production, and writing will be too strong for it to fail. Greg Daniels and Steve Carrell haven't done anything since The Office and I think they're going to do this right.

The biggest challenge is going to be people comparing it to The Office and all of its greatness. This could be a really good show, even if it doesn't reach the heights of The Office.

this could have potential if they keep clear of politics and aim for a hybrid of the "Office" and the "IT Crowd"

I think they will lean too far into politics and wont capture the charm of the office or parks and rec.

How can it be dumber than the actual space force? Will they have "super duper missles" like BLOATUS promised yesterday?

I thought this trailer was decently funny. I'm sure The Office trailer was pretty bad and it turned out alright.

We shall see! But I'm betting it's funny.

Based on the trailer I'd agree. Based on the actors, it would have to be colossally bad not to be funny.

If you took a bunch of The Office scenes out of context and made a preview, it wouldn't really look funny either I imagine. We'll see though.

They've gotta find a way to get Rainn Wilson in to this. He'd be a perfect mid level career Air Force (non-pilot) officer.

Hopefully Lisa Kudrow doesn't get a lot of screen time because she is just terrible. Looks like it is Micheal Scott in space but hopefully there is more to it than that.

Just found Upload and finished two episodes and it has me hooked. Great show so far.

Reviews just hit and they aren't promising so far...

I'm willing to give the first season some leeway as long as it shows promise and has at least some flashes of brilliance. The Office, P&R, Brooklyn 99, etc all had mediocre first seasons

I'm watching season 1 Brooklyn 99 and don't find it mediocre. It gets better?

That doesnt surprise me. Trump and this admin are hard targets for satire. People are still too emotionally invested in both sides and so much of the actual insanity isnt believable and reads like a blumhouse script.

The same jokes in 20 years might land but not now.

A guy at work gets chosen to test for Netflix from time to time and got to preview this. He said that they do not keep clear of politics and it isn't neutral when they go that route. There are jokes that don't even fit the scene and seem to be put in there just to be anti-trump or anti-conservative. The president is an obvious caricature of Trump. In his words, the political stuff isn't middle of the road political satire, it's a for sure shot at anything that isn't Hollywood Liberal.

Politically, that dude is as Libertarian as they come, is not a fan of Trump, and said that the only reason that he kept watching is that he felt obligated.

I'll give it a shot, but based on the sneak peeks and what he said, I don't have high hopes.

Even the critics that I've read aren't enthralled by it and they love to give Daniels and Carrel credit whenever possible.

Makes me sad they can't be funny without being political.
