I always thought I liked outbreak until I recently watched it again, and it was then that I realized that Dustin Hoffman may be the single most overrated actor of all time.

I think movies like this shouldn't be included in lists like this....mainly because the cast is advertised just as much if not more than the actual movie.

Movies like Cats, Love Actually, and any others like this seem to lean heavily on names that are in it and that being the main thing that gets people in seats.

Then you have movies with big name actors in it (take Outbreak for example) where who's in it is t over hyped....there just happens to be big names attached to it.

One of my daughters (she has a couple of degrees from A&M) is an epidemiologist. She is on the front line, doing biostatistics, whatever that is. I am very greateful for her hard work during this thing.

I remind her often about getting rotor time. Old joke.

She didn't really care for some of my stories from being on the road when she was growing up. I'd tell her that we were "taking food and medicine to poor and sick people". The part I left out was... "and then sometimes we would invade them".

Outbreak is great. The little bird scenes are great. Dale Dye is great.

And many C-130 scenes... Dustin Hoffman telling the base ops sergeant to change the flight plan. Lots of people on the flight line wearing their hats. Quiet conversations in the the back of a Herc. Greatness. A C-123 dropping the Blu82, all under the command of a DR.

This movie is the greatest of guilty pleasures. I stop every time when channel surfing.

And The Conqueror with John Wayne. It was so bad it gave pretty much the entire cast cancer.
