Wow this was an awesome movie. Most tense I've been throughout a movie in a long time. No time to relax from the very beginning. Sort of like the uncut gems of the horror/thriller genre.

The way the music was playing at the end I half expected a surprise ending to where she somehow planned this from the beginning to kill him. Glad they didn't go that route bc that would've been very far fetched.

So what does everyone think? The husband was in on it the whole time? But how did he convince the brother to go kill the girl?

I'm guessing they were both in on it the entire time and the husband always had the backup plan of acting like he was kidnapped if the brother ever got killed?

But what was the brother's motivation to haunt the wife? Why would he want to do that?

He was mentally.manipulated and bullied by his brother just like everyone else. I thought they did a pretty good job of showing that.

Yea that was my takeaway. Just thought it was kinda a stretch that he would go that far so wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

[sp]So what does everyone think? The husband was in on it the whole time? But how did he convince the brother to go kill the girl?
Think you mean the boyfriend (Adrian). He was most definitely "in" on it the whole time. We know this because of the pill bottle he leaves in the bathroom (something his brother neither knew about nor could possess without it being given to him). It was heavily implied that the Brother has been under the thumb of Adrian since childhood. Also, the brother's law firm is backed financially from Adrian.

And for clarification, I think Adrian killed the sister (Emily). The only time the brother was invisible was at the end.

I'm guessing they were both in on it the entire time and the husband always had the backup plan of acting like he was kidnapped if the brother ever got killed?
Yes, that was his contingency. ?

But what was the brother's motivation to haunt the wife? Why would he want to do that?
Again, he's been manipulated by Adrian his entire life. Money+Fear of his brother is enough motivation.[/sp]

Are you really this obtuse? or just being a jerk?

I'm just wondering why, when quoting a post that used spoiler tags as they were intended, you decided to forgo those things in your reply? Do you not understand what spoiler tags are for or do you just not care?

I am not a fan of most modern horror, especially slasher crap, but this was a GREAT thriller. Really enjoyed it and liked the mechanism of invisibility. Well worth watching.

This and Quiet Place to me have really shown a nice turn in horror/suspense movies recently.

Just saw this last night in an empty theater. I really enjoyed it, but like some others said, I wish I hadn't seen the trailer first. It doesn't ruin the movie, as there are lots of twists and turns towards the end, but it definitely lessens some of the scares towards the beginning (Boyfriend at car window, bed sheet scene, attic/paint scene) I would have preferred to have been truly surprised by those scenes. Definitely some plot holes, but all in all, we really liked it.

Ok, first of all, I thought it was great.

For me the two biggest plot holes were with both of the slit throat murders.
1) when the sister is killed, the way in which the knife moves is more like Darth Vader was using the force than an actual human holding it. It literally flies into her hand, which happens to be open.
2) when Adrian is murdered, she grabs a hold of him first and waits about 2 sec before forcing him to slit his throat. Am I to believe that she is capable of overpowering him to the extent that she can kill him AND make it look like a suicide?

Just watched this as it's free on HBO Max. Really enjoyed it!

Definitely some jaw-dropping moments. I thought the ending felt a little rushed, but overall fun movie to watch during Halloween season.
