The Robin Hood movie with Jamie Foxx and that generic white guy was the worst, most hamfisted-ly political movie I've seen in a long time.

mel brooks has a timelessness about his comedy. People can pick it up for the first time and see its value beyond the comedies of their own era.

I forced my SO to watch Dracula Dead and Loving It over Halloween, she had never laughed so hard. Mel Brooks and Leslie Neilsen together. Amazing.

Then I let my 16yo nephew watch blazing saddles, he was live streaming it so his friends in NY could enjoy it too.

Fighting tyranny and corruption.

Tax collectors throughout much of history were sleazy corrupt robber barons. Not much different from the street gangs that use the threat of violence to demand that innocent hard working people in their hood pay a "protection tax".

Of course they're probably just waiting another few years because we're not quite ready for a Robinhood and Little John to be pansexual lovers.
