And that is not her elbow.

any episode with Katie Lee on it, I'm watching.
props to Billy Joel...Christie Brinkley then Katie Lee
almost Baio-esque
Katie Lee is so annoying. Anytime she's a judge for anything, I change the channel.
Now Amanda Freitag, she's great.

It was a golden age.

I'm the opposite, I hate it. It used to be a cooking channel. Then when it started to be a competition channel, they created "The Cooking Channel". Now that is nothing but competition shows. I miss watching the pure cooking shows then making the food:
Jamie At Home
Barefoot Contessa
Grillin' and Chillin'
Boy Meets Grill
Tyler's Ultimate
Secrets of a Restaurant Chef
Luke Nguyen's Vietnam
Easy Chinese / Indian / French
Nigella Bites
Giada's Rack
Molto Mario
Emeril Live!
Good Eats
Etc.
What a novel concept, right?GoAgs92 said:J-Quob said:GoAgs92 said:

One small correction....mazag08 said:
Chopped has given me quite a few ideas like..
1. What ingredients I will never use
2. Why I should take my time when cooking
3. Why a cooking judge is more worthless than a movie critic
4. It's not just me who cuts and burns himself when not paying attention.
5.When trying to impress, always add bacon
6. Cooking should be fun and not a job.
Seriouseats.com does alot of that breaking down basics.MW03 said:
They really need to get those guys to produce a limited run web-series where each chef takes one dish real people make on weeknights and then makes a 10 min episode about how to cook it better.
Call it "Workweek Eats" or "Weeknight, Eat Right" or something like that. No crazy ingredients. No protracted techniques.
Episode 1 is Bobby Flay making ground beef tacos. Here's how you brown the meat, here's some spices you can keep in your pantry and to it that will whip an Old El Paso spice bag. Here's a tortilla trick, etc.
Episode 2 is one of the southern cooks making chicken strips. No, not bone in blah blah blah. No, not trimmed chicken thighs. Strips. That my kid will eat. Here's how to whip them up in a hurry after a long day with minimal work but make them some bomb ass chicken strips.
Episode 3: Grilled cheese sandwich
Ep 4: Pizza, and reheating delivery pizza
Ep 5: Quesadillas
etc etc
They would cook some god awful looking sheeet too. Seems like kidneys were a favorite.YouBet said:
I'm surprised this show hasn't been listed but "Two Fat Ladies" is the all-time best cooking show. It's two old British ladies who ride a motorcycle with a side car around the English countryside and cook. They smoke on the show and are funny as sh^t. Not sure if you can still find the episodes but I assume you can buy the show.

We still watch Chopped on occasion and on Sunday mornings getting ready for church we'll watch Pioneer Woman. Her food actually looks pretty good.
