Anyone else a fan?

Idk what it is about the channel, but I catch myself watching it more often than any other. All the shows are basically the same with just some sort of different packaging. Almost everything is a competition, just with a different twist. Amateurs competing. Celebrity chefs competing. Professional chefs competing. And I can't help but be just entertained enough, not to turn it off.

Its just crazy to me how many different ways they can have the same concept just with minor tweaks

Chopped
Guys Grocery Games
Beat Bobby Flay
Worst Cooks
Bobby's Flay and Michael Symon grilling championship

I've always found it to be some of the dumbest **** on TV.

I'm the opposite, I hate it. It used to be a cooking channel. Then when it started to be a competition channel, they created "The Cooking Channel". Now that is nothing but competition shows. I miss watching the pure cooking shows then making the food:

Jamie At Home
Barefoot Contessa
Grillin' and Chillin'
Boy Meets Grill
Tyler's Ultimate
Secrets of a Restaurant Chef
Luke Nguyen's Vietnam
Easy Chinese / Indian / French
Nigella Bites
Giada's Rack
Molto Mario
Emeril Live!
Good Eats

Etc.

A lot of those shows are still on, at least on the guide. Are they just airing old episodes?

I live the travel shows where they go to different restaurants around 'Murica.

Emeril Live! was the OG. Remember watching that religiously in the late 90s. As insanely popular as it was, I'm a little surprised it's not in reruns somewhere. I would certainly rather watch that than "worst cooks in america." It amazes me that Food Network thinks people want to tune in to see people who can't cook.

I like to watch the Great British Baking Show on Netflix. It's so entertaining and calm, a much more fun watch than the drama-filled competition shows on the Food Network.

Tangentially, East Meets West with Ming Tsai was the tits.

We discovered it recently because the same sort of theme is with HGTV and we got tired of it.

Nailed it! is easily the best cooking show out there. They basically guarantee the people will fail every time.

Can you call most of those actual cooking shows? There is 5 minutes of cooking and 55 minutes of fanfare and pompous judges that love to listen to themselves talk.
