Just turned this off halfway through. Wanted to like it, but it's reeeeeaaaaallllly bad. And I'm a huge fan of the show.

Disappointing to hear. Will watch due to inability to process new inputs.

The interviews are hilarious as always. But they're super short and all the scripted stuff in between, which makes up the vast majority of the movie, is shockingly, mindnumbingly unfunny.

The interviews are good, but the "plot" is lacking to say the least. When he tried to get Tiffany Haddish to do the pitch for Fosters Beer was probably my favorite moment. I was a little disappointed but it has its moments.

Needed more of the interviews.

All the decent interview meat was shown in the trailer. This seemed thrown together like a lot of the netflix content. It's as if they have two tiers of effort.

It really does feel like they had 24 hours to come up with the plot and then write all the scripted stuff. It's just incredibly sloppy and hardly makes any sense whatsoever, even on the surface. I don't need something like this to be the most well thought out thing ever, obviously, but I do want it to at least feel like something someone spent more than a day thinking it up.

It's a strange business model they have. Either go completely over the top quality-wise ala Narcos or Stranger Things, or just half-ass the hell out of a project. It's pretty disorienting to the customer.

I'm a huge fan of Scott Auckermann and comedy bang bang, but his genre is improv, absurdity, and low rent shtick. Really funny in podcast form and short comedy vignettes (like the original Between Two Ferns), but I could definitely see this not translating to a full length film. Last week's episode of CBB featured the full cast, and their descriptions of the process did make it seem like it was very thrown together.

I'll give it a watch, but not shocked about these reviews.

Netflix is a platform. They provide material from a ton of different creators, just like TV channels do. It's not one guy or one group of people sitting in a room deciding how to make each show or movie Netflix adds.

Between Two Ferns was probably slapped together by Zach and an editor, then handed over to Netflix like the stand-up comedy specials are.

Based on this I just skipped through to interview scenes. Most enjoyed the credits bloopers.

I understand this. But disagree about them just being a platform these days.

I stopped watching the "story" about halfway through and just skipped through to the interviews.

It wasn't terrible, I just lost interest.

And anyone reading this who may decide not to watch this movie: you have to at least skip to watch the end credits. They are the funniest part of the whole thing.
