I thought this day would never come. What does everyone think so far?

Upon a first listen, HOLY SH*T.

"7empest" is probably now one of my top 3 favorite Tool songs. Really like "Descending" and "Invincible" as well.

I don't know how to listen to it first, while I lift this AM or tonight with some beer? Yea, I can't wait until tonight...

Only half way in and this is ****ing phenomenal. After 13 years they freaking brought it with this one.

Their evolution has been awesome.

I couldn't wait for my CD copy to come in today, so I bought the high res audio files last night after I got back from the game and took the day off. Danny Carey is a god.

I'm still trying to figure out how much I like it.
TOOL is my favorite band, but for some reason, it always takes me a while to really get into an album.
Some of the songs on Lateralus and 10,000 Days took me years to really "get".

I know I like it, though. 7empest and Pneuma are my favorites so far.

I 100% agree with you. I don't even allow myself an opinion until the 20th listen.

Album is great. Listening through the second time now. Still think Fear Inoculum is my fav.

It's your favorite because you've heard it more... just wait and you'll have a new favorite

I think you should have posted on the Tool - 8/30 thread that started a month ago!

Looking forward to next weekend when I will have some time to be home alone and am able to brew some tea, put this album on and stare at my hard wood floors as they turn to liquid.

I've listened a couple times today (lifting and driving), but I'm stopping at Total Wine after work to get some good beer and will sit at home tonight and listen multiple times. My 15 month old will love Tool...no choice.

Listening to it now on my work computer for the first time. Love it. Cant wait to crank this **** up on my drive home. I have a 35 min commute so I'm gonna rock this **** 3 times.

I'm loving the new album! Especially 7emptest and Culling Voices. Is there any way to still get the limited edition CD??

Pneuma is just hot AF - I'm mildly addicted to this song.

Great album - the production and mix are immaculate. Fat and wide but you can everything clear as a bell.

I know.. Metallica had an 8 year gap recently, but during that gap they released a movie, released 3 live dvds, organized their own festival two years in a row, played ~300 shows around the world, including a show in Antarctica a few big 4 shows, did an album with Lou Reed, were inducted into RRHOF, performed at a grammy ceremony with a concert pianist..

Tool didn't do anything in the last 13 years hah. (other than play a few hundred shows)

Unreal album. Pneuma is tops for me at the moment.

Is ticket master the best place to get tix for the tour still? God I hate Ticketmaster but don't want to pay asinine 2nd market prices

That video on the CD package is a) not something I'd wanna watch on shrooms and b) almost seizure-inducing.

Maynard's vocals are very...meh... he definitely mailed it in.

It's taken me a few listens to appreciate his vocals. It's not the same raw energy and of course no yells like in the past.

Remember, he's 55. The vocal range probably just isn't there any more.

I've been offshore for the last 30 days. I've listened to this album more than a few times.

When you take into account the 7 tracks on the physical CD, I believe this to be Tool's most complete, accessible, and mature work to date.

The Toolarmy presale is a scam. You pay 50 bucks to be able to spend another 500 bucks for sound check, photo op with a band member, front rowish ticket... originally there was some language stating toolarmy members could be able to grab some early seats.

Tool is my favorite band but not in the realm of paying 500 bucks to meet one member. The only musician id pay that much meet is probably Roger Waters... but given he is a hippie dewsh I doubt I'd pay that even.

These old dudes are definitely in the money printing business.

I agee, and love me some Tool. Miss the old days of join a bands fanclub for 20-40 bucks and get presale access.

With that, I will be on the lookout in the coming days on Ticketmaster and if I see an option for presale passcode, I'm just going to roll the dice and go with 'PRETENTIOUS'

You got to explain to me your reasoning.

$500 minus $150 for the ticket (pricing per TM), less $20 for parking, less $30 for tshirt = $300 to meet Tool. You think that's a ripoff????

For reference, Metallica M&G ticket was like $5,000

I realize now maybe you mean it's a scam because the tool army gets you NOTHING BUT a chance to get VIP ticket, and not a chance at just general on sale.

Who cares? Just buy them through ticketmaster.

I think the issue was that Tool promoted presale tickets as well as VIP experiences for Tool Army members, when it was actually only VIP sales (which you can access from https://embed.onelivemedia.com/events/29050 even without a Tool Army membership).

They were purposely vague in order to get $50 fanclub signups.
