That looks surprisingly good. I used to go to the original Alamo Drafthouse Theater when it was new, I remember they were going to have a blaxploitation night, showing Dolemite, and I was exchanging emails with Tim League about what type of 40's to serve - I wanted Mickey's. While Tim League went on to riches I just continue to pretend to know anything about malt liquor.

Eddie Murphy does make things look easy - except make good job choices I guess. But he looks right for this.

I want so badly for Eddie Murphy to be back. I fear that Dr. Dolittle and Daddy Day Care might have just broken him permanently.

Ashamed to say I had no idea that the dolomite references in Futurama pointed to this dude. Well, I'm not old as **** so not that ashamed, but mildly.

I've only ever known Dolemite from another very underrated movie, "The Great White Hype".

Went to Rockefeller's back in the day and Harald Melvin and the Blue Notes; Rudy Ray Moore was the intermission act. We were the only three there who was reciting with him. He cane to our table during the second act and drank cognac and told some hilarious stories. He cracked us up when he said "I had no ideas any junkies anywhere even knew who I was- much less knew any of my stories". He was shaking his head and laughing the whole time.

Wife and I watched it tonight and enjoyed it. I know of Dolemite from rap songs and cultural references but never saw the original movie.

This makes me want to rewatch I'm gonna get you sucka.

Quirky film that has an interesting story but doesn't take itself too seriously. It has a lot of silliness and I found myself rooting for Moore/Dolemite. Definitely worth a watch!

Tried to watch this the other night, but wife vetoed. You know how racist those Norwegians can be. I'll have to give it a watch next time I travel.

It was okay, I guess.

I thought it was really entertaining, but I don't think it was a "comedy". More of an idealized look at a funny person. Murphy was great. Snipes was great - "See y'all at the premier" ... "nevermind, there won't be no premier"

I liked it.

It makes me want to see the original movie now.

I thought Murphy did a fantastic job. Really enjoyed it.

Just watched it. Thought it was great. Hilarious and kind of sweet. Easy to cheer for the characters.

Thought it was reall good. Looked and most of the movies are on Amazon Prime. Going to have to check a few out.

Be forewarned...they are horrible, but in the best way. I highly recommend!

Really enjoyed it. The martial arts was top notch.
