Primus, Ministry and Phil Anselmo (playing pantera songs) as openers.

I think I might go for the Pantera show alone.

OK, their tour booker guy needs a bonus.. Slayer playing at the TaxSlayer center in IL?? Good work.

SLAYER!

I saw them on the South of Heaven tour (maybe the best concert I have been to) and on Seasons in the Abyss tour

Great shows!

Also Primus on the Pork Soda tour
Primus Sucks!
(A Primus fan will understand that. )

Wish i was close to one of those dates.

Saw slayer on extreme steel tour with Pantera, Morbid angel, static X. Hell of a show

Saw them again in Austin with hatebreed, skinlab.... gotto meet Kerry king after show and get set list signed. Was in metal heaven... however he is A LOT shorter in person than I imagined.

Aww, sad to see them go

Got to see the original lineup play their final time together at the Big 4 in Indio CA in 2011. Hanneman came out and played the final two songs of their set

Slayer is probably my third favorite of the big 4. With anthrax last and Megadeth a distant second from metallica. Only saw slayer once back in 04. Saw Megadeth in 95 and anthrax in 97 (coincidentally with Pantera), so I've done my metalhead duty and seen them all

As a huge Metallica fan, I have no problem claiming that Reign in Blood is the best metal album ever made. I've listened to it hundreds of times, and it never ceases to get my head banging. It's a real bummer I never got a chance to see them live. I wish there were some Texas shows.

I've always contended that we should use the intro to Raining Blood as the Ags entrance music for football. Imagine the ominous drums and intro riff kicking in as the Ags take the field. Intimidating stuff.

It fails in a few areas:
Solos. MOP guitar solos are a world away from anything king or hanneman ever did. Listen to damage inc solo vs angel of death or the solos of the title tracks. RB solo is a hot mess of noise. No melody, no hook, no catch no structure..
It doesn't contain the best metal instrumental ever written.
It doesn't have an epic intro. (where it does have the epic intro on title track, damage inc has equally as epic intro!)
It's only 28 minutes long.

Other than, it's a thrasher!
