1. Why do you nees to turn your brain off to enjoy this?

2. Why does aTmAg need to do that?

3. Because of the vibe of this show, i would think it is right up his alley.

No need to turn brain off. One of most thoughtful shows on tv right now.

Any intel or confirmation that Elisabeth Shue did shoot scenes for CK3?

My concern with her character is if she's in it she might feel forced in, but then again they have done a pretty good job with the other old characters so maybe it'll be fine.

The guess i thought was going to be she will end up being Miguel's doctor. Or her husband will.
Weren't they far away? I forget.

Consult with a specialist? And i thought there were northern LA or something
I was thinking specialist. I think she's in Colorado (IIRC). She could reasonably come in to help Miguel after reconnecting with Johnny.

I've spent most of the series mesmerized by Ralph Macchio's combover/toupee situation

Just finished the two seasons, I have a headache from being beaten over the head with Karate a Kid and 80's nostalgia. It's like they didn't live for te lat 35 years and just picked up where they left off. All they talk about is high school and Mr Miagi.
If the show wasn't about KK, it would just be another cheesy 90210 type melodrama. I mean, just look at the last episode. Johnny misses Miguel's phone call, Sam is about to tell Robbie about the kiss but the bell rings, Robbie breaks up the fight but Miguel only see him holding Tori see he fights him. Johnny throws his phone away the second Ali finally gets back to him etc.

But on the plus side, seeing Johnny turn into the sympathetic one is an interesting twist, and the fight scene at the end of the last episode had a nice Road a house vibe to it.

And yeah, I watched the whole thing in two weeks or so, so I must not have hated it..

One other note on residuals, I mentioned it here before, but I went to UF' with the little boy in Close Encounters. He lied in NJ os he paid OOS tuition, but he said residuals paid for his college. So they must not suck too badly.

I agree with you on the second season, but I thought they did a great job taming down the Karate Kid throwbacks in the first season.

Cobra Kai definitely requires you to turn your brain off to enjoy (aTmAg should probably steer clear of this show).
I've watched the crap out of this show, enjoyed it, and posted about it in this thread already.

I might be confusing you for another poster, but don't you regularly complain about too much "karate" in movies?

Finished both seasons over the last two weeks. I was always intrigued by the idea, but forgot about it being on that YouTube platform. Really glad that it's moved to Netflix and that season 4 has already been confirmed.

Yeah, that's me. The reason I hate karate in movies nowadays is because almost everybody does it. The Walking Dead had this guy as a karate master for crying out loud. If aliens were to watch our TV/movies, they probably would get the impression that 50% of us were karate experts. Back in 1984, when Karate Kid came out the idea was fresh (especially the part about a scrawny white kid being taught by a master). Corbra Kai is a sequel of that movie, I wouldn't expect them to drop karate. It's kinda the point. (It's the same reason I give a pass to the 1995 Ghost In the Shell for 3 point landings. If you are the first, it's all good).

Also Corbra Kai doesn't take itself too seriously. It's all fun and games.
