How long do you want to ignore this user?
Anyone watch the premiere? I thought it was interesting and am curious to see where it goes. I thought the girls in the shed thing was super obvious but other than that I will be tuning in from here.

More of a sci/fi mystery show or more of a relationship drama? I am curious which direction they go but I hope they focus more on the mystery aspect.

I've read that it is closer to this is us than say the twilight zone.

Just watched it on DVR. So far I like it.

Just hearing the previews it sounds like the writers got stoned watching lost, woke up to the Fox News reports of Malaysian plane crash, and then went on and got drunk watching flight of the navigator.

I haven't watched it but it's an interesting concept where the world and your loved ones move on without you and then you suddenly reappear sometime later without a place in it anymore.

I liked it.

I think I am most interested in the storyline of the cancer researcher and the boy whose twin aged 5 years and he didn't.

Cool concept. But the acting was bad and it seemed overly cheesy. And I didn't care for the voices in their heads, but guess it's too early to tell if that story line is a dud until we realize what's going on.

I'm a huge Lost nut, so I'm always intrigued by these wannabes.

I think maybe this show is a victim of the modern attention span. I felt like they should have let it breathe more. It was just too much. It moved too fast. Lost was great because it introduced a central plot point (the crash) and focused on it and the people before it slowly introduced more thing. This pilot jammed too much in too fast. It should have let the initial mystery play out more. They land, appear to be on the ground for a couple minutes before someone pipes up "What's going on?" and the guy just freely delivers this uttering mind blowing thing to them. There should have been more push/pull in the situation to me.

But over all I'll give it a little to see where it goes.

Really interesting concept, but it got pretty dang hammy right out of the gate. Worried about a fast flameout.

Agree 100% that they tried to go way too fast.

Very well said.

The 5 year lapse should've basically been a cliffhanger at the end of the episode (if even that early). Maybe one of the passengers meets a family member and they have clearly aged and everyone is confused and then the episode ends. Instead they throw that out in the first ten minutes and then bombard us with the voices in their heads, solving a mystery, etc.

This show is a cool concept but needs way more sublety and slow burn as opposed to them just knocking us over the head with stuff.

And the bad acting and overall cheesiness if the show will get old quick. But I'm sure I'll stick around for a few episodes just to see what's actually going on.

I was disappointed that the episode had the pace of a feature film or mini-series instead of being set up for a long running show. But overall it was an enjoyable watch and the premise is intriguing. I'll be back for the next couple of episodes and likely the first season.

The main girl annoyed me a bit. Also whenever she heard the voices she acted as if she was being shot.

LOL. Yeah, the voice reactions were a borderline SNL skit.

I was intrigued with the concept, but I'm not sure I like where they are going with this. There is no way these people would just back into a normal life (work. Shopping, etc). They would be too famous.

The acting is laughably bad. I mean I literally laughed out loud a few times while watching. It's almost worth watching for the acting train wreck.

So who did the mom marry?

Old Tom Morris

Probably lesbianing out with the captains wife.

At least she's not like the hoar Helen Hunt in Cast Away, who probably hooked up with that dentist right away based on the age of her kid.

I was feeling generous and gave episode 2 a shot. So many laughably bad moments. It was pretty much all of the worst attributes of episode 1, but with any interesting aspects (i..e the plane/overall concept) removed. Gonna check out on this one.

I'd love to have been in the writers room for this episode.

"So next we introduce a mysterious presence."

"How so? Like a passenger with a dark side? A covert operative?"

"No. Like a shadow. Kind of like smoke that follows someone around."

[silence]

"You're saying on a show, about a group of strangers, united my a mysterious happening on a plane, that people will already be comparing to Lost, you want to introduce a smoke figure? A smoke monster? (a beat) Are you high?"

There was actually a whole lot introduced in the pilot of lost:

Polar bear, the monster, the French broadcast...

I think the main difference is that the lost pilot was one of the best pilots ever made... Extremely well done in almost every aspect.

This was better than mediocre, but not great. I'll give it a few episodes.

I thought the plane exploding at the end was a really bold move...and the voiceover saying "it didn't want to be investigated" was extremely bold.

It's strange I know, but I feel like even more than the head voices, that hammered home the point that this show isn't going to be afraid to go paranormal.

Interesting show. Can't disagree with any critiques so far, but I am interested in the show. Binged the first 3 episodes yesterday. I will probably watch the first season and decide from there. I hate to not finish a season at least of a show. Its like judging the first half of a movie without seeing the ending.

hallucinations? people hearing music? i'm hoping they start hearing 'all along the watchtower' and a bsg tie-in. is that too much to ask for? otherwise, i'm checking out,, can't stand another show where main characters refuse to talk to other main characters and act rationally. (lost, lost in space, etc)

I'm now caught up and I'm enjoying the show. I do wish, like others have pointed out, that they would slow things down a little and let characters and arcs develop the way Lost did.

One comment: this is a rare TV show I can watch with my kid (11). Not too infantile and no gratuitous language/sex/violence. That bumps it up a couple notches at least for me.

The thing that bugs me is the over-amped and over-powered FAA agent. I haven't seen a motivation for considering these folks criminals/enemies of the state and he's locking people up, surveilling and badgering all of them. Weird.

Zemira

To me the FAA agent seems to want a big deal out of it, because if he solves the mystery he will become famous. In reality he comes off as a wannabee Homeland Security Agent or something.

I watch it faithfully, but wonder where they are planning to go with it. My fear is that it will become another Under the Dome with a strong basic premise followed by subplots and new characters that went nowhere. Viewership has steadily declined (from 10.4 million for the premiere to 7.2 million last Monday) so maybe NBC will have the guts to bring the story to a resolution. And it better not be that it was all a dream.

Did this turn out ok? Just finished episode 2 and seems decent-ish plotwise. Just want to know if it derails hard or nah. Hate wasting time on duds at the end.

I got bored by the end of the first season and stopped watching. Saw an article this week saying NBC is not renewing after season 3 airs, but the producers are looking for a new home.

It's what I'm afraid of. I rarely watch tv so when I do I get Uber pissed when a tv show fizzles badly. Trying to poke around without hitting spoilers on Google but not getting much.

Interesting this thread got a bump. I just watched the first episode the other day. Was excited to watch a show where they try and readjust to the world with a B plot of them solving what happened.

Instead it went directly to voices in the head and I dipped out.

It derails hard going into the finale of season 2 and the start of season 3. We stopped watching about 2nd epi of season 3. Just started getting into too much different plotlines that made no sense.

I did see its on Netflix now.. wondering if Netflix will carry the 1st two seasons to see how it fares and if they might run a season 4.
