I am guessing that the high ratings and popularity from the Buzzy/Austin battle last year got this going...

They need to do an episode where they invite Norm McDonald as Burt Reynolds, the guy who does Sean Connery as Sean Connery, and Will Ferrell to compete with Will Ferrell playing the game as Alex Trebek.

Only if they include Kirstin Cutts

Come on down Ken Jennings and the other guy that competed against the computer.

I actually think the other guy was better....but caught a bad draw. Think his name was Brad.

They are. Brad Rutter. He was in the promo clip.

And yes... Kirstin is probably the hottest contestant I can ever remember

Brad Rutter has never lost on Jeopardy (aside from the Watson game, which proved that computers are better at buzzing in than humans). He played in the 5-episode limit era. He won his tournament of champions, 2 $1 million dollar tournaments, and the $2million dollar ultimate tournament of champions.

I also met him at a quiz bowl tournament in high school, and he ran through some practice questions with us.

Unfortunately I have not met the real star of the show though...Kirstin.

There have been some good ones over the past few years. Matt Jackson, Alex Jacob, Arthur Chu, Julia Collins.

Team event...how will that work? Have they had any team events in the past? I'm in regardless.

From Jeopardy.com

Quote:

Teams will return to Los Angeles in January 2019 to compete against each other head-to-head. Each three-person team will designate one player to play the Jeopardy! round, one to play Double Jeopardy! and one to play Final Jeopardy! Teams will be eliminated based on point totals, with the top three teams competing for a $1 million prize in a two-day final.
Still a bit confusing because the contest takes place over 10 days. Not sure how competition and elimination is supposed to progress.

They film at least 5 shows a day.

Typically 5 a day every other Thursday and Friday.

Trebek has a good job. 4 days a month and $10 million a year

The contest is spread over 10 broadcast days. Wasn't talking about filming days.

How many teams?
15 teams or 45 people will play in the first week. You probably have a 2 round final where you add the scores for both days. So you need to get down to 3 teams by end of 8th day.

Take top 9 teams from the first 5 days and seed them somehow. Then in 2nd week, 3 teams on Mon, 3 teams on Tuesday, 3 teams on Wed.
Winner each day moved on to the thu/Fri championship where you add up totals.for both days.

I put too much thought into this.
