They have established that Janet gets super drunk when there are strong magnets near her, so I imagine they'll get her to the MRI somehow before too long.

Disagree completely. She was already a lot more nuanced and human-sounding in the first episode(s) of this season. I imagine she'll continue to evolve and D'Arcy Carden will continue to get to play what must be the most fun comedic role on scripted TV.

Error/goof that I noticed in season one when Chidi and Eleanor meet she says that his English is perfect. He says that he's actually speaking French but it's automatically translated in the afterlife. How then at the end of season two when Eleanor goes to meet him in Australia, is she able to understand him if they are back on Earth?

Could easily be that in the "Good Place" you speak what was native to you. I mean he still speaks French when his colleague pops his head into his office. He speaks English in this scenario because it is the primary language of Australia.

I love how this show just keeps being able to evolve in new settings. Jason is the best too. So many good throwaway lines.

They had him do that speech on the video in a French accent. Then they did it in English.

And they didn't want him speaking with a French accent and said **** it.

Solid Chidi meltdown

I, for one, would totally watch a spin-off centered on Donkey Doug.

After this show is done, I would LOVE to read their Good Place bible and see what they had planned and when. The longterm pay off of this show has been amazing.

That entire episode was gold. The revelation that Donkey Doug is his dad. The entire handshake with Pill Boy. Just gold upon gold.

You should check out their official podcast. They are making this season-to-season, and only the first season and maybe a little of the second was mapped out when the show was created. The podcast is hosted by Marc Evan Jackson, the actor who plays Shaun, and they've had all the actors, writers, directors, costume, set decoration, etc on to talk about the little details and the story-breaking process. It's really enjoyable, especially if you have a commute to deal with.

Yeah the podcast has a lot of good stuff in it, especially highlighting little things that you might miss like how most of the businesses they visit in Australia have names that are Finding Nemo puns and the Australian character names like Jolivia Ootown Nohn, Eeth Kurban, and Nicole Mankind.

I noticed Jolivia Ootown Nohn in the credits! But who was she on the show?

I think she was Chidi & Simone's first waitress in the coffee shop.

French Pressing Nemo really got me as the coffee shop name, and it distracted me from the street signs below it:

Creating background props in the art department must be the most fun job on a Mike Schur TV show.

I saved the episode on my DVR specifically to learn this handshake!

Every handshake needs a trust fall.

So, on the podcast they said that the script just said "funny handshake". The actors just made that up by themselves.
