So glad someone else has found this show! I also feel like I watched it too quickly as the characters and dialogue are so great...it would have been nicer to let it marinate a bit.

I may have to do a S1 rewatch in advance of S2.

I just binge watched this on Tues and Wednesday. Such a good show. The first half of episode 1 seemed slow, but once she had her big "debut", I couldn't turn away. Was hilarious, and am glad my wife hasn't seen it so I get to watch it again. Can't wait for season 2.

I haven't watched the show, but my wife loved it. It's not the kind of show she's normally into. We have a Kindle Fire, and it will automatically download shows onto it so you always have something to watch. We had a long plane flight last month, and she didn't download anything before hand. All that she had on the kindle was a couple episodes of Ms. Maisel Amazon had automatically downloaded in the background. She watched those, and then immediately downloaded the rest as soon as we landed.

The Rib and I binged it a couple of weeks ago. We both loved it.

Was looking for something new to watch, I always saw it on the list but just didn't seem to appeal to me. I gave in and tried it and man was surprised, it is a really good show. Needs to be on your list.

I tried to like it, but I couldn't get into it.

Something about the over-snappy/witty dialogue....

Maybe I need to give it another try.

Because of this thread I was reminded about the show, one I've been meaning to catch up with for a few months now. Finally put it at the top of my list earlier today, caught M:I - Fallout this afternoon, then did dinner with friends after at one of my favorite spots, in Laurel Canyon. We sat down, and two tables over is... Rachel Brosnahan, eating with her husband. She's tiny, too. I'd say I was surprised, but that's almost always how it goes with celebrities.

Anyway, looking forward to the show. Will probably start it in the next week or two and report back...

Next on my list

Finally watched the pilot tonight and loved it. I hadn't seen a single trailer, I only knew that it was Rachel Brosnahan in the '50s and that was it. Once I started, at first I thought it was going to be a little too madcap for my taste, but it quickly settled into a rhythm, and once the conceit of the show came into focus, I was hooked. Really looking forward to seeing it where it goes, and I can't praise Brosnahan's performance enough. She's absolutely deserving of that Emmy nomination, even after just one episode.

With only 8 episodes I feel like it maintains its stride as well. Characters deepen, face realistic setbacks & successes, etc. I'm glad enough industry folks took notice to reward Brosnahan with her Emmy nod but I definitely wish more mainstream folks were talking about this show. It's brilliant.

I LOVE New York Jew 50s/60s movies.

I finished watching S1 yesterday and can't wait for S2. The only problem I had with the first few episodes were that they supposedly happened within the first couple of days. Not plausible.

I finally get it. Also, fid you mean to say "great"? I think that's what threw me off initially.

Done with the season. Great show. Faded a bit down the stretch(only in relation to the strong start) but ended well in the final 2 eps.

I hope they stay aggressive with the storyline and keep it moving vs slowing it down. Midge is an incredible character but it also scares me because they could *******ize her very easily.

Late to the party, but so glad I finally got to this one. I loved just about everything about this show. It seemed to have a fresh energy to it, kindof a mix of theater and tv. Given the time period, I probably enjoyed just looking at this one more than anything since Mad Men too. Really enjoyed Tony Shalhoub's comedic bits and giggled everytime someone would call Susie "young man"

I finished a week or so ago. I enjoyed the show, although I can't really say why. I didn't think her comedy routines were all that funny, and I can't stand the Gilmer Girls rapid fire dialogue. I did find myself always wanting to watch the next episode, though.

Funny. We just started this show too. Fantastic.

Side note: I searched youtube for Lenny Bruce and they had a clip from a show in 59 with the same bit the show included in episode 4 (I think) - the intro of the jazz group. The actor nailed it. The overall "feel" of that era is just so really really good.
