I tried PS Vue for a year (2016) and really wanted it to work but the picture quality/frame rate was poor compared to cable and it would constantly buffer/crash during big games. This happened across multiple TVs and multiple streaming devices in my house. Sadly, I'm back with Comcast.

Has anyone else had these issues? Have they been resolved? I remember reading at the time that plenty of people were experiencing the same issues, especially during popular sporting events.

ESPN+ is only $5 a month. Access to all the ESPN networks.

I tried cutting the cord but with directv at $50 a month it's not worth the trouble to me.

I've only had it for about 6 months, but haven't had any problems with picture quality or buffering.
I have a 200mb/s internet service and 5 devices. Usually only about 3 streaming at once.

Not true. It doesn't give you access to any of the ESPN networks - just the leftover crap that isn't on TV.

Just take your savings and go to friends houses or a sports bar for the games that you want to watch but can't get OTA
Streaming service with sports channels on the high end = ~$50/mo

Let's see. Average of 4 games a month in the fall. Wife and I for food and beer during game, which means we probably stay a little before and after. At least $75/game x 4 weekend = $300+/mo.

I'll watch at home.

Haven't read all the replies but we cut the cord last year and have Sling and YouTube TV. There's quite a bit of overlap but the golden part of YouTube TV is that they carry all of our locals in San Antonio. Not every city has all locals available just yet but they are moving that direction.

With those two, I havent missed a thing.

Find someone with cable (most old people still have it)

"Borrow" thier login info

You should be able to stream most stuff on your roku

Maybe he's interested in being honest.
If my parents still have cable and I use their login info to watch sports, how is that being dishonest? Especially when I share my passwords for things like HBO Now, Amazon, and Hulu with them?

Because you aren't paying for the service that you are using. How do you think it's not dishonest?
I guess you're saying that if I go to a friend's house to watch the game I'm being dishonest too, huh?
No one's saying that and you don't honestly believe we are. Read your terms of agreement. Sharing passwords so another household can use the service is no different than stealing cable by splicing the line.
I'm not seeing anything in the Terms of Use about password sharing. http://www.dishanywhere.com/terms-of-use
That link states that you are subject to their Residential Customer Agreement, which you can find here.

No different from walking into CiCi's with a bunch of friends, buying one buffet for yourself, and letting them all eat off of your plate. It's theft.

I'm not using it for commercial use and I would certainly qualify as either a member of the household or as a guest. Until they specifically ban it, I'm not losing any sleep over the ethics of it.

Do you think Billy would have a problem with you sharing your password for TexAgs? Let's ask him.

Except TexAgs is VERY explicit about account sharing

Dish network is explicit. You're not a household member or a guest.

This is from a piece written by the Washington Post back in February.
Quote:

A spokeswoman for the Dish Network and its sister streaming service Sling TV said its focus is on too many simultaneous log-ins rather than "who is using an account."

Some services are not worried about password sharing, some draw a clear line in the sand. Dish clearly isn't worried about it at this point.

I'll give you credit for your determination....whatever you need to keep justifying to yourself using a product that you're not paying for. I get it, "adulting" can be hard, right?

Just went through this. After a few weeks of research, here is what I did:

A Roku streaming stick + (plus) for each tv in your home. Comes with a remote for each tv. They're about $60 at Best Buy.

Then subscribe to Youtube tv for $40/month. You get unlimited cloud DVR and all the ESPN sports including SEC network. You get the watch espn app if you're a Youtube TV subscriber. You also get all the local channels.

It's a fantastic deal and although the format of youtube tv is slightly different than cable, it's well worth paying 1/3 for the stuff we watch. Comes in 1080p and 4K.
How easy is fast forwarding through commercials on their cloud DVR? Do they have a 30 second skip?

Have psvue in College Station. Has worked very well. Only get CBS (KBTX), but on demand for other networks. I could watch all Aggie games and most NFL. Only downside was inability to watch football on NBC (Sunday Night). Also have Netflix and Amazon Prime. Can sream up to 5 tvs/ devices. Not going back.

Interested in this as well.
I've considered going back to cable just to be able to fast forward through commercials again.
On the positive side, having to watch commercials has cut my TV consumption substantially

Yeah, that's why I asked too. I can't watch commercials anymore. I even start watching live sports late just to avoid them. I try to time it perfectly so I catch up to live right at the end.

idk where you are, but my fam uses verizon 5g for internet. previously used fubo every fall for aggie football, in future will use espn premium package to get all the games. hbo max carries all the food network shows

but, yikes at the $348/month price gouging. we cut the cord when xfinity bundle surpassed $200/month
