My father-daughter dance was Luckenbach, TX.

Let the mom pick - even if it's terrible, it'll mean something to her. Or both of you pick something fun.

The key is, cue the DJ to announce everyone to come on dance floor after 30 seconds or less. Nothing kills wedding momentum than standing there watching 2 people dance for a 3 min song. Especially if you have to do it for multiple iterations (couple, father/daughter, mother/son, etc )

Agree. How can a newlywed wife be ok with this? Will the mother walk the son down the aisle and give him away, also? The replies here have been hilarious, though.

Thank god. Despite the wife saying this is normal I don't think I've ever seen this or heard about it. I was stone sober at my wedding and reception and know for a fact I didn't have one. We hadn't he typical first dance as husband and wife and father/daughter dance.
