Hard to disagree and they are nitpicks amongst a cast that was so strong too to bottom but I wasn't a big fan of Alicia Witt as Wendy Crowe or Mary Steenbergen as Katherine Hale. But it wasn't enough to detract. And really everyone else was perfect.


Another for me like that is The Americans. Could nitpick the kids but everyone else is so strong. Including Margo Martindale again. The leads and main cast are so good. I am literally afraid of Kerri Russell now the most frightening and cold female assassin I've ever seen. Yikes.

Lastly I'll throw in for the cast of Firefly. Not one person I would change. So good.

Great point on Firefly. I think Nathan Fillion in his role helped take the show to that next level.

Christian Bale has Pat Bateman in American Physcho. Cast of Dallas Buyers Club.

I also wasn't too sure about Neal McDonough either honestly. He can play a good bad guy, but it felt when Quarles went crazy bad guy he kind of lost the character.

Though the rest of the cast I would agree is pretty excellent in Justified. Hell, even supporting characters like Choo Choo. Rarely was there a misstep in casting, save for the couple you mentioned and maybe one other: Ava.

The Wire - certainly not perfect - but some great casting there too. Bunk might be my favorite....or Stringer Bell, Bubbles, Omar, Avon Barksdale, Brodie, etc.....and Kima, Carver, (even Herc) and especially Lester for the cops. You could question the Brit (Dominic West) or the Irishman (Aiden Gillen) with his accent work particularly but their characters were still great overall. Just a few weak links in there.
