How long do you want to ignore this user?
I guess since this thread just started, no one is interested, and no one watched?

Well, I'm a fiend for 24, so I was looking forward to this. First episode showed potential. Main character is solid, but no one is Jack. Not too excited about supporting cast yet. Too many ancillary subplots and storylines to start.

Beginning in typical 24 fashion: extreme muslim terrorists appear to be the bad guys, but we'll see what western European power is really behind it.

I'll keep watching to see where it goes. I swear I saw Tony Almeda in the trailer, so that alone will be worth it.

I'm a 24 fan and I liked the first episode. It captured the feeling of the original series. Of course, Eric is not Jack. But, the action is already there. The scene in the house at the beginning was solid. I found the episode dragged a little after the 30 minute mark.

I'm not sure where they are going with the Chechnya plot line.

I'm interested to see where this season goes. I'll be along for the ride.

And Eric seems like he's going to be a solid character. I'm guessing in a later episode his wife will be found in the projects and there will be some kind of shootout.

My wife and I haven't watched episode 1 yet due to the Super Bowl going to OT. But we'll watch it tonight and then episode 2. I'm excited!

I loved the original 24.
This new one is okay. I think Carter is doing well so far. Not a fan of everyone else. I'll give it two more episodes. It's "meh" so far

I'll give it a solid B-.

It's ok and will keep my attention, if I'm bored for the 13 episode season.

My wife and I are into it. It has the same "feel" as the original. Nice nod to Edgar Stiles.

I recorded it but haven't watched it yet. I'm honestly scared to...I'm so loyal to Jack and Chloe!

Did anyone else notice when Carter went into the police station, as he was being escorted he didn't have his sling, and then suddenly it appeared on his shoulder? My wife caught it. Thought that was funny.

Jack wasn't really jack until Season 2 when he killed an informant while under cover and cut his head off with a hack saw.

Season 1 of 24 was less crazy.

season 1 also suffered greatly from a lack of mountain lions

"It didn't concern us, because we know where the show ends up," [executive producer] Coto continues, referring again to the premiere's first scene. "I like to say the series begins as if it was written by Trump, but it ends as if it were written by Hillary. It's not going where you think it's going."

Wow. I had watched the first episode and was on the fence about continuing with the series, that quote just made the decision easy... I'm out!

1) Idiot producer just halfway gave away the ending saying it won't be Muslims behind it.
2) Giving in to the PC mafia by acting like Muslims aren't responsible for most terrorism..
3) I don't want to watch a show that seems like its written by Hillary OR Trump, I don't particularly like either one of them, and I'd like to just escape for an hour.

For me, "24" without Jack Bauer is kinda like "Dallas" without J.R Ewing. There is still plenty of drama.... but it just ain't the same without that flawed-alpha male badass lead character. But I've enjoyed the first two episodes and after watching the "APB" premier last night.... I'm reminded of how much better an ordinary "24" is compared to the other crap on the major networks.

The first guys they show are never the Big Bad of the season!

It's probably the white, rich, bigoted opponent of Jimmy Smitts running for president on a platform of business.

Yeah, painfully obvious to anyone who's seen 24. Reaction after the first scene: "Welp, we know the muslims aren't the real bad guys."

I'll keep watching, and not analyze everything. Just pretend the show takes place in a parallel universe where jihad is just a myth.

I watched the first episode last night on Australian TV. Sounds like we're 1 week behind the US. I liked it.

It took a little bit to get going but, I think I'm in.

For the record, last year I watched 24: India and it was pretty good. So, I'm open to some variations in the formula and the fact that you can have 24 without Jack Bauer.

i never watched the original so maybe that's it, and i am well aware that i'm definitely in the minority, but 3 episodes in and i just don't get the appeal. i spend more time rolling my eyes than enjoying the show.

Yeah, this iteration has been pretty good so far. I like that actually for once CTU and the agents are ok the same page. I expect that to go awry at some point.

I am enjoying the show. My only beef with it is that Eric is not near as tough as Jack Bauer. He keeps getting kicked around and is not emanating an aura of toughness, in my opinion.
Beat40
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Maybe he has to develop this as a character a little bit. I know he's a Ranger, but Jack had his daughter and wife taken and used against him in season 1 of 24. I know jack was tough before that, but your daughter and wife being taken will really toughen you up.
Beat40
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I think he may have found his inner Jack.

Just finished episode 3. And there we have it: the obligatory token nod to the LGBTQRXZ& crowd. Look, I get that homosexuality is a thing, and I expect to see gay characters on t.v. But this is nothing more than a gratuitous subplot that serves no purpose but to pander.
